E3 in the east Czech republic - Day 28 ( Stage 4 )

In today's part of the notes from the long-distance route E3 in the territory of the eastern Czech Republic, we will look at what I experienced and saw in the valley of the Moravice River.

V dnešním díle zápisků z dálkové cesty E3 na území východní České republiky se podíváme co jsem zažil a viděl v údolí řeky Moravice.

To the second day on the Moravice River, I woke up when the alarm clock rang. When I managed to get out of the sleeping bag, I saw a colleague with whom I had spoken the previous day leaving. I dressed in the damp clothes I had washed in the river the day before. And then I set off in the direction of a village called Jánské Koupele.

Do druhého dne na řece Moravici jsem se vzbudil, až ve chvíli kdy my zazvonil budík. Když se mi podařilo vylézt ze spacáku viděl jsem odcházet kolegu se kterým jsem předchozí den hovořil. Oblékl jsem se do vlhkého oblečení, které jsem předchozí den pral v řece. A poté jsem vyrazil směr vesnice s názvem Jánské Koupele.

I was warned that there were some ruins here, but what awaited me literally shocked me.

Byl jsem upozorněn, že je zde pár ruin, ale to co mě čekalo mě doslova šokovalo.

Jánské Koupele was a spa town that prospered mainly during the First Republic when the rich class flocked here. During the communist era, the place was used as a children's sanatorium, and since the beginning of the 21st century, the place has fallen into disrepair, even though it is a protected monument.

Jánské Koupele bylo lázeňské město, které prosperovalo hlavně během první republiky kdy se sem sjížděla bohaté třída. V době komunismu místo sloužilo jako dětská ozdravovna a od začátku 21. století místo chátrá i přesto, že je památkově chráněno.

There is also a viewpoint with a wooden gazebo above the town, where I dried my wet things and also had breakfast.

Nad městečkem je také vyhlídka s dřevěným altánem, kde jsem dosušil vlhké věci a také se nasnídal.

In another village, Zálužné, I came across a monument to a man I had never heard of, but I was surprised that he was a personal friend of T.A. Edison. It wasn't until further down the river that I found out that this man had really done a lot for the area.

V další vesnici Zálužné jsem narazil na pomník muži o němž jsem nikdy neslyšel, ale překvapilo mě že byl osobním přítelem T.A. Edisona. Teprve dále po řece jsem zjistil, že tento muž pro tuto oblast udělal opravdu hodně.

From several other information signs I learned that slate was mined here. It was mined in surface quarries and in underground mines. Only the traffic must have been crazy, because the paths were narrow and led on steep slopes.

Z několika dalších informačních cedulí jsem se dozvěděl, že se zde těžila břidlice. Budˇ v povrchových lomech, tak i v podzemních dolech. Jen ta doprava musela být šílená, protože cestičky byly úzké a vedly v prudkých svazích.

As soon as the valley widened a little, I went to the ford across the river to wash off myself. It was terribly hot. Therefore, in the town of Podhradí, I headed to a local restaurant called Mototaverna with the plan to have a few cold beers and something to eat. Which eventually succeeded and I even survived one short heavy rain, of which several were to come that day.

Jakmile se údolí trochu rozšířilo šel jsem se opláchnout k brodu přes řeku. Bylo totiž strašné vedro. Proto jsem v městečku Podhradí zamířil k místní restauraci s názvem Mototaverna s plánem dát i pár studených piv a něco k jídlu. Což se nakonec i podařilo a dokonce jsem přečkal i jeden krátký prudký déšť, kterých ten den mělo přijít několik.

The heat and beers caused a few pictures that I probably wouldn't normally have taken, but the trip went well.

Teplo a piva způsobily, že vzniklo i několik snímků, které bych asi běžně nevyfotil, ale cesta ubíhala pěkně.

As I wrote above that Mr. Weisshuhn was very beneficial to this area. So I came across his greatest work further down the river. That work was a water canal, which supplied water and wood to the Žimrovická paper mill with water, or produced electricity using turbines and thereby helped the development of the entire region. The length of the canal is 3.6 km, it has 3 tunnels, 2 aqueducts and a water height of 26 meters against river.

Jak jsem psal výše, že pan Weisshuhn byl pro tuto oblast velmi přínosný. Tak na jeho největší dílo jsem narazil dále po proudu řeky. Tím dílem byl vodní kanál , který napájel vodou a dřevem Žimrovickou papírnu vodou, nebo vyráběl elektrickou energii pomocí turbín a tím pomohl k rozvoji celého regionu. Délka kanálu je 3.6 Km má na sobě 3 tunely, 2 akvadukty a převýšení 26 metrů proti řece.

Following the red sign, I reached the town of Hradec nad Moravicí, where I wanted to replenish my supply of drinks, because I drank everything in the heat. And since it was a holiday, the only thing that was open was the gas station, so I had to go past the castle on the hill. I took a few photos and continued down the valley to the gas station. Here it started to rain heavily, so I sat under an umbrella for about an hour and rested lightly. After a while, a man working at a gas station came and I expected to be fired, but he came to ask about my experience because he was planning a trip to Santiago de Compostela.

Po červené značce jsem došel až do města Hradec nad Moravicí kde jsem chtěl doplnit zásoby pití, protože jsem všechno ve vedru vypil. A jelikož byl svátek tak jediné co bylo otevřeno byla benzínka, takže jsem musel projít kolem zámku na kopci. Udělal pár fotek a pokračoval do údolí k benzínce. Zde začalo silně pršet a tak jsem asi hodinu seděl pod deštníkem a lehce odpočíval. Po chvíli přišel muž pracující na benzince a čekal jsem, že budu vyhozen, ale on se přišel zeptat na mé zkušenosti, protože plánoval cestu do Santiaga de Compostela.

After the rain, I went back to the castle, where I was again stopped by the rain, so I sat again this time with such a view.

Po dešti jsem se vydal zpět na zámek, kde jsem byl zase zastaven deštěm a tak jsem zase poseděl tentokráte s takovýmhle výhledem.

It wasn't long the rain finally stopped for good and I was able to explore the rest of the castle grounds and the English park.

Netrvalo dlouho a déšť konečně natrvalo přestal a já jsem mohl prozkoumat zbytek zámeckého areálu a anglického parku.

The park was huge and at the very top was Bezruč's viewpoint where I wanted to spend the night. Unfortunately late as it was already occupied by other tourists I met down at the gas station. So I continued to the shelter called Bee Castle.

Park byl obrovský a na samém vrcholu byla Bezručova vyhlídka kde jsem chtěl přenocovat. Bohužel pozdě, protože byla již obsazena dalšími turisty, které jsem potkal dole na benzínce. Tak jsem pokračoval až k přístřešku s názvem Včelí hrad.

I originally thought that the trip around the river would be easy, but the opposite was true. It was a rather demanding stage full of steep climbs. On the other hand, this stage was full of various monuments, either natural or technical. I covered a total distance of 32.2 km with an ascent of 713 meters and a descent of 658 meters. This stage also took me over the total goal of 1000 kilometers from the start of this project.

Původně jsem si myslel, že cesta kolem řeky bude pohoda, ale opak byl pravdou. Jednalo se o dost náročnou etapu plnou prudkých stoupání. Na druhou stranu byla tato etapa plná různých památek ať už přírodních, nebo technických. Celkovou vzdálenost jsem urazil 32.2 Km s převýšením 713 metrů a klesáním 658 metrů. Touto etapou jsem se také dostal přes celkovou metu 1000 kilometrů od začátku tohoto projektu.
