Never a dull moment - Life and an Aero show

avatar

Life happens all the time whether you are ready for it or not. There is never a dull moment. If you think there are dull moments then those moments are like a calm before a storm. As you relax and take in the calmness, enjoy the peace and the stillness of the moment boom there is a another event waiting to happen and catch you by surprise. Such is life!

I can never imagine myself sitting atop a mountain, cross legged in lotus position focusing on my breath and let life pass me by. Peace is deep within, we don't need to chase it just as we don't need to chase after happiness. Be it sadness or happiness, be it adventurous or quiet, life is why we are here. The last week was one huge circus, I barely had time to even understand what was happening in my world. Celebrations, death, grief, pain, adventure one followed the other and had me spinning like an emotional top.

The truth is in all that spinning and flailing about one needs to keep his/her balance and sanity together. Never letting one's emotions takeover and getting trapped in its clasp is crcial. Letting these emotions wash over you, experiencing them whilst letting them go as life moves on, is the way to go. Cherishing the beautiful moments, capturing them in one's soul to be able to let them out and allow them to cocoon us in their beauty and wonder makes even the tough times seem like a breeze.

Celebrating our 32 Wedding anniversary on Valentine's day the hubs and I decided to do something we have been wanting to do for years, go watch the Aero-show in our city. Responsibilities, work and commitments has had us tied up for years and now we seem to be finding our wings. Taking about wings what better way to let go than watch these beauties fly.

The experience was amazing not just a wondrous sight to the eye, it kind of touched a few cords deep inside, kindled some emotions of the beautiful kind and left me exhilarated. Being someone who is deeply moved by nature I didn't expect these steel birds to mess with my emotions this much.

Any experience that leaves you feeling amazed and in awe brings out the child in you, no matter what your age might be. To be like a child to see with eyes of wonder, to experience joy unadulterated is to truly live. Maybe you don't agree with me, but I certainly do feel this way.

Just watching a few air crafts taking off or touch down is a normal thing. It's when they keep you waiting to show you what acrobats they can do high up in the sky disappearing from sight as you watch them and appearing all of a sudden when you least expect them from a direction you didn't perceive is the true magic of the moment.

These little acrobats leave you hoping for more and then the show comes to an end as suddenly as it began. Just as in life when good things happen you just keep wanting more of it and then all good things come to an end.

Some cultural barriers were broken when people discovered that the F35 which did such amazing flips flops and nose dives was flown by woman pilot. It was rather interesting to see the mens reaction as she got out of the cockpit, they ran with their huge lenses to click pictures of her as she casually brushed her hair back into place before she left the place.

Our home grown light combat planes, light combat helicopters, a huge Brazilian army plane and of course the much envied F16's and F35's were stars of the show. However, it was amazing to see the Dacotas of yore glitter in the sky even in a high tech age as this.

The walk from the parking to the venue, the never ending ques, the silly selfie mad crowd which believes that all that they came for was the selfies, the blazing summer sun all seemed like a bit too much to digest. However, at the end of it all the show was so worth the pain and the effort. How often in life people decide its all too much to take and put an end to their life without waiting to see what the whole show has to offer.

Even with my old DSLR and a 250 mm lens things did turn out much better than I expected. Of course I had to twirl around and spin around all the time to get these images. The pain was immense for days after, yet I guess I might still want to go for the aero-show next year.

The thrill of watching someone doing what you thought was not humanly possible and the adrenaline that flows through your veins as you watch it is something that needs to be experienced to be believed. Even though this week was heartbreaking I still have something positive to show for it.

All images used in this post were captured by me and are my personal belongings.

So true.
Happiness is not far fatched, it all depends on oneself freeing it's wings.
The site of seeing those fly up high is fascinating.
You captured amazing moments.
