Flowers and Fake animals in a park

This Wednesday I bring you scenes from a long walk in a park filled with fake animals and flowers shimmering with rain drops. We had driven to a hill station named Madikere about 250km away from home because the boys needed a break. It was raining on and off, it was also quite windy and chill but the walk was amazing. The scenes from inside the park were beautiful but the show nature puts up on the rolling hills around was amazing.

The cloudy skies ensured that the light was inadequate for good photographs but these are raw photographs which have not been touched in anyway. The flowers in the cooler hill stations are always beautiful. These looked so fresh like a breath of Spring in the middle of the rainy season.

The sun did show up through the clouds once in a while, but since it wasn't raining hard I walked around the park taking as many pictures as I could. This bunch of peach and red allamanda looked so pretty glittering with rain drops. I couldn't take too many pictures as the rain was increasing in intensity and I had to run for cover.

The park was full of dinosaurs and children seemed quite fascinated by these sculptures. Some of these looked rather frightful. These sculptures were huge at least about ten feet in height. I guess the idea behind these was to keep the little ones happy although some dinosaurs didn't look all that friendly.

There was a fake rhino too in the park among the roses. It was a sharp contrast to the delicate roses which were hanging in bunches weighed down by the rain and the wind.

This miniature crepe myrtle hanging down by the weight of the water on the flowers. This is one of my favorite bushes. I wish I could get one for my garden.

There were elephants everywhere, fake of course, but people seemed quite happy taking selfies with these fakes. Some of these sculptures looked pretty realistic in size and in appearance.

Zinnias were blooming everywhere in the park, often lining the walkways with their beauty and color. The rain and the wind made it difficult for me to take pictures but I don't give up easily.

The park is on a hill and is at different heights. This is a section of the park. Thankfully it did have these small shelters with terracotta tiles built all around so people could get some shelter from the pouring rain. Each of these shelters provide scenic views of the hills around.

Leaves studded with rain drops were a regular feature all across the park. Some reflected the light better than the others.

Fake deer were to be found hiding in the bushes everywhere. Some looked huge and over fed, but then with so much green grass growing everywhere how else could they be?

Then there were these topiary animals, green and beautiful. I have always wished to develop this art maybe someday I will have the space and the energy to create something.

These are the roads sloping down the hills pretty steep, but beautiful. There are the old fashioned houses hiding amidst the trees. Almost all of the old houses here have these pretty terracotta tiles. The houses are usually hexagonal octagonal in shape.

I took a picture of my second son when he wasn't looking. He just wouldn't let me take a picture of him lol. The boys are as shy as I am when it comes to photographs.

The place was filled with dahlias of every hue and color. There were plenty of bees around as well.

There were waterlilies too at the park. This one looked so pretty in the mist around.

It was raining heavily and the hills looked like they were covered in mist from a distance. The undulating green hills are such a beautiful sight.

We did have a great time together after so many years. These walks were the highlights of our short but lovely family trip.

True, the park was so colorful with all these blooms. I am glad you think the fakes look real, most of them are to scale and look pretty real.
