Una visita a Chía [ESP-ENG]

Conocer nuevos lugares nos hace bien, sobre todo cuando lo hacemos en compañía de seres queridos.

Por la visita de mi suegro a nuestra casa hemos tenido unos días muy movidos, de ver la cultura y gastronomía colombiana que nos ha acompañado durante los últimos años, a través de la mirada fresca de un visitante.

Hemos hecho paradas en cafés y también en fruterías, para presentarle al Sr. Ángel lo que más nos gusta de este país.

También hemos tenido la oportunidad de conocer nosotros mismos nuevos lugares. Ya habíamos pasado por Chía, una vez que le dimos un recorrido en carro y la vez que visitamos la Catedral de Sal de Zipaquirá, sin embargo, el día de ayer recorrimos por primera vez a pie el pueblo de Chía. Es un lugar muy bonito y pintoresco, lleno de comercios y de personas caminando sus calles. La plaza central, junto a la iglesia, tienen su atractivo. Es de un aspecto colonial y cada una de las entradas a la plaza son únicamente de paso peatonal, con comercios en cada lado de la calle, lo que hace que todo se vea muy bonito. Estas caminerías tienen algo específico y son una especie de "canal" dedicado a la corriente de agua. Les comparto un cartel posicionado en una de las entradas a la plaza, donde queda descrito la importancia del agua y de la mujer para los primeros pobladores de este sitio, hace varios miles años atrás:

"Aquí la mujer fue primero, creación divina, portadora de la vida, genésis de todo lo creado, al contrario de otras culturas donde la mujer es solo un apéndice del hombre"

Fuimos a Chía principalmente para hacer una diligencia, pero por supuesto, no nos podíamos ir sin hacer algo de turismo.

Cerramos nuestra visita con un delicioso almuerzo, donde cada uno pidió una proteína distinta entre pollo, cerdo y carne de res. Llegamos a Chía en transporte público, y nos demoramos casi 1 hora 30 minutos. Tuvimos que regresar en taxi porque yo tenía programadas dos consultas psicológicas por la tarde. De regreso, demoramos alrededor de una hora en llegar y allí, en ese viajecito, aproveché de dormir.

Getting to know new places is good for us, especially when we do it in the company of loved ones.

Because of my father-in-law's visit to our house we have had a very busy few days, to see the Colombian culture and gastronomy that has accompanied us during the last years, through the fresh eyes of a visitor.

We have made stops in cafes and also in greengrocers, to introduce Mr. Angel to what we like most about this country.

We also had the opportunity to get to know new places ourselves. We had already been to Chia, once we took a tour by car and the time we visited the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquira, however, yesterday we toured the town of Chia for the first time on foot. It is a very nice and picturesque place, full of stores and people walking the streets. The central square, next to the church, has its attraction. It has a colonial look and each of the entrances to the square are only for pedestrians, with stores on each side of the street, which makes everything look very nice. These walkways have something specific and are a kind of "canal" dedicated to the flow of water. I share with you a sign positioned at one of the entrances to the plaza, where the importance of water and women for the first settlers of this site, several thousand years ago, is described:

"Here the woman was first, divine creation, bearer of life, genesis of everything created, contrary to other cultures where the woman is just an appendage of the man".

We went to Chia mainly to run an errand, but of course, we couldn't leave without doing some sightseeing.

We closed our visit with a delicious lunch, where we each ordered a different protein between chicken, pork and beef. We arrived in Chia by public transportation, and it took us almost 1 hour and 30 minutes. We had to return by cab because I had two psychological consultations scheduled in the afternoon. On the way back, it took us about an hour to get there and there, on that little trip, I took the opportunity to sleep.
