Mi ciudad gris

Bogotá es fría y en ocasiones oscura.
Sé que para algunas personas esto no es tan agradable.
Por el contrario, a mi me gusta, sentir la brisa fría sobre mis mejillas, las gotitas de lluvia e incluso el granizo, que funciona para que el tiempo se detenga y todo lo demás tenga que esperar hasta que uno se refugie en un techo. Solo allí te detienes, observas, registras. Por supuesto, vendrá mejor si llueve y uno está bajo cobijo, con una taza caliente entre las manos. Pero también me ha tocado mojarme de pies a cabeza, tener goteras en los paraguas y agua que entra hasta las medias... Y les parecerá muy curioso pero lo disfruto y agradezco, es agradable. Sobre todo lo que ocurre luego de la lluvia, llegar a bañarme, tomarme un té caliente...
Es mi ciudad gris, con destellos de colores en las autopistas y en las caras de la gente que está construyendo su vida. Sí, es una ciudad con caos, con problemas, con desorden, pero, como si se tratase de una persona imperfecta, ha sido amable, y eso es suficiente y más.

But I have also had to get wet from head to toe, to have leaks in my umbrellas and water up to my socks.... And it may seem very curious to you, but I enjoy it and I am grateful for it, it is pleasant. Especially what happens after the rain, I get to take a bath, have a hot tea...
It's my gray city, with flashes of colors on the highways and on the faces of the people who are building their lives. Yes, it is a city with chaos, with problems, with disorder, but, as if it were an imperfect person, it has been kind, and that is enough and more.
