Estos últimos días han sido una mezcla entre vacaciones y trabajo. La semana pasada tuve mis mañanas libres por el receso de Semana Santa, así que aprovechamos las primeras horas del día para el turismo, y las tardes para continuar con nuestras actividades productivas, que son una mezcla de varias cosas, porque en mi familia tenemos varios tipos de trabajo.

Una de nuestras salidas turísticas fue para el Cerro Monserrate, una gran montaña a la cual se puede subir por teleférico o funicular. Desde arriba hay una vista hermosa de la ciudad, pero también de las montañas y la naturaleza. Hay mucho por hacer, como tomarse fotografías con la inmensidad de Bogotá, comer comida típica colombiana y también comprar artesanías o "recuerdos" como souvenirs. Arriba hace un frío delicioso, y aunque yo estaba bien abrigada, quise calentar mi cuerpo con una aromática recién preparada. Hay muchos puestos de bebidas calientes pero decidimos entrar a un pequeño restaurante con una terraza que ofrece una vista esplendorosa de la montaña. Además, ese sitio estaba prácticamente vacío, así que reinaba la tranquilidad, el silencio y la paz.

Mi aromática fue de fresas y frutos rojos, pero realmente tenía otros ingredientes como hojitas de yerbabuena y panela, lo que le daba un sabor refrescante, dulce y natural. Me gustó la presentación de la bebida y que fue servida en un vaso de vidrio y no en una taza, eso hizo que este té se sintiera distinto al que me tomo todos los días en mi casa, o en una cafetería.

En estos sitios, por ser turísticos, los precios son un poco elevados. Por ejemplo, una caja con 20 sobres de té se puede conseguir en un supermercado por 0.50 centavos de dólar, mientras que este té en las alturas costó un poco más de 3$. Probablemente muy económico para algunos países pero un poco costoso para los precios de esta ciudad. Claramente, fue preparado de forma "casera" o artesanal, y se puede considerar un lujo beberlo en esa terraza con esa preciosa vista. Pero aunque eso explica un poco el precio, no deja de sorprenderme considerando que ya no me siento tan turista en esta ciudad😅

La visita a la montaña recargó mis energías y una vez de regreso a la ciudad, me sentí con tranquilidad mental para concentrarme en el proyecto que me tiene súper ocupada últimamente. Se trata de la revisión de estilo, redacción y ortografía de una revista. Es algo que, aunque requiere bastante trabajo, tiempo y dedicación, disfruto hacer por dos razones principalmente: 1.- Porque me gusta leer y aprender cosas nuevas. 2.- Porque cumplo la fantasía que tenía de pequeña de hacer lo mismo que mi mamá (revisar exámenes, poner acentos en rojo y dejar comentarios de corrección, jajajaj). Además, es una actividad muy enriquecedora porque, aunque no soy experta en la materia, he tenido que investigar y estudiar sobre la gramática y el español, algo que sin duda me dejará aprendizajes y experiencia laboral.

These last few days have been a mix between vacation and work. Last week I had my mornings off because of the Easter break, so we took advantage of the early hours of the day for sightseeing, and the afternoons to continue with our productive activities, which are a mix of several things, because in my family we have several types of work.

One of our tourist outings was to Cerro Monserrate, a large mountain that can be climbed by cable car or funicular. From the top there is a beautiful view of the city, but also of the mountains and nature. There is a lot to do, such as taking pictures with the immensity of Bogota, eating typical Colombian food and also buying handicrafts or "souvenirs" as souvenirs. It is delightfully cold up there, and although I was very warm, I wanted to warm up my body with a freshly prepared aromatic drink. There are many hot drink stands but we decided to enter a small restaurant with a terrace that offers a splendid view of the mountain. Besides, this place was practically empty, so tranquility, silence and peace reigned.

My Tea was strawberries and red fruits, but it actually had other ingredients such as mint leaves and panela, which gave it a refreshing, sweet and natural flavor. I liked the presentation of the drink and that it was served in a glass cup and not in a mug, that made this tea feel different from the one I drink every day at home, or in a coffee shop.

In these places, because they are touristy, the prices are a bit high. For example, a box with 20 sachets of tea can be obtained in a supermarket for 0.50 cents, while this tea in the heights cost a little more than 3$. Probably very inexpensive for some countries but a bit pricey for the prices in this city. Clearly, it was prepared in a "homemade" or artisanal way, and can be considered a luxury to drink it on that terrace with that beautiful view. But while that explains the price a bit, it still surprises me considering I don't feel like a tourist in this city anymore😅

The visit to the mountain recharged my energies and once back in the city, I felt calm enough to concentrate on the project that has been keeping me so busy lately. It is the style, writing and spelling revision of a magazine. It is something that, although it requires a lot of work, time and dedication, I enjoy doing for two main reasons: 1.- Because I like to read and learn new things. 2.- Because I fulfill the fantasy I had as a child of doing the same as my mom (checking exams, putting accents in red and leaving correction comments, hahahahahah). Besides, it is a very enriching activity because, although I am not an expert in the subject, I have had to research and study about grammar and Spanish, something that will undoubtedly leave me learning and work experience.
