As mankind has evolved, has been leaving nature farther and farther behind. Going to a mountain, a forest or even to the beach is understood as an opportunity for disconnection.

This erroneous vision that human beings live in a place apart, is what in my opinion has made many people not care about the environment and don’t care about the destruction of the planet. Yesterday was Earth Day and I was reflecting on this topic while looking at some photos from a recent outing.

We too are part of nature and we need it more than it needs us. Did you see that documentary series where they talked about what the Earth would be like if humans disappeared? If you didn't see it, the summary is that the Earth wouldn't need us at all.

Let’s not see nature as an escape, let’s not feel like visitors at the river or the waterfall, every time we go there we are also at home and that is why we should not harm it, if we destroy our home, where will we go?

A medida que la humanidad ha ido evolucionando, ha ido dejando a la naturaleza cada vez más lejos. Ir a una montaña, a un bosque o a hasta a la playa se entiende como una oportunidad para la desconexión.

Esa visión errada de que los seres humanos vivimos en un lugar aparte, es lo que en mi opinión ha hecho que muchas personas no se preocupen por el entorno y les dé igual la destrucción del planeta. Ayer fue el Día de la Tierra y estuve reflexionando sobre este tema mientras veía algunas fotos de una salida reciente.

Nosotros también formamos parte de la naturaleza y la necesitamos más que ella a nosotros. ¿Vieron esa serie documental en la que hablaban de cómo sería la Tierra si los humanos desapareciéramos? Si no la vieron, el resumen es que no le haríamos falta para nada.

No veamos la naturaleza como un escape, no nos sintamos como visitantes en el río o la cascada, cada vez que vamos allí también estamos en casa y por eso no debemos perjudicarla, si destruimos nuestra casa ¿a dónde iremos?
