Visiting the Little Coffee Town Don Rafa, Barinas - Venezuela / Visitando el Pueblito Cafetalero Don Rafa, Barinas - Venezuela

After arriving in Calderas, as I told you in the previous post, our first route around this town took us to a very picturesque place full of aromas.

Después de haber llegado a Calderas, como les conté en la publicación anterior, nuestra primera ruta por los alrededores de este pueblo nos llevó a un lugar muy pintoresco y lleno de aromas.

It was early, as we traveled at night and arrived in Calderas at dawn, the typical freshness of the mountain climate was in the air and the tranquility of the town at that hour was almost total. We crossed a beautiful forest with some elevation and in a few minutes we were there, in the Little Coffee Town Don Rafa.

Era temprano, como viajamos de noche y llegamos a Calderas al amanecer, la frescura típica del clima de montaña estaba en el ambiente y la tranquilidad del pueblo a esa hora era casi total. Atravesamos un hermoso bosque con algo de elevación y en unos minutos estuvimos allí, en el Pueblito Cafetalero Don Rafa.

This place is a theme park created by the owners of the inn where we stayed in Calderas, Cielito Lindo, so that visitors can learn a little more about the way of life of the people of the Barinas foothills. It is run by local people who are extremely friendly and talkative.

Este lugar es un parque temático creado por los dueños de la posada donde nos alojamos en Calderas, Cielito Lindo, para que los visitantes puedan conocer un poco más de la forma de vida de la gente del piedemonte barinés. Está atendido por personas del pueblo que son sumamente amables y conversadoras.

The space of this hacienda has typical constructions of the area, both colonial style and those made with bahareque (mud and reeds), all surrounded by striking vegetation such as orchids, bromeliads, emperor's canes, among others, and of course coffee plants, the protagonists of the place.

El espacio de esta hacienda cuenta con construcciones típicas de la zona, tanto de estilo colonial como las hechas con bahareque (barro y cañas), todo esto rodeado de llamativa vegetación como las orquídeas, bromelias, bastones del emperador, entre otras, y por supuesto plantas de café, las protagonistas del lugar.

In the small houses of bahareque there are some signs hung with names, I suppose to recreate some of the characters of the town and their trades, since inside there were, for example, some objects used for agricultural work.

En las casitas de bahareque hay unos avisos colgados con nombres, supongo para recrear algunos de los personajes del pueblo y sus oficios, ya que adentro había, por ejemplo, algunos objetos usados para el trabajo agrícola.

How about these coffee liqueurs shown by my sister @gatubela? I particularly like anything with coffee 😃.

In the main house of the Little Coffee Town Don Rafa, you can sit in a nice space to enjoy the delicious coffee they offer and also look at the antiques that decorate the place.

En la casa principal del Pueblito Cafetalero Don Rafa, te puedes sentar en un bonito espacio a disfrutar del delicioso café que te ofrecen y también mirar las antigüedades que decoran el lugar.

Another thing you can do here is to camp, they offer all the comforts to do so, you just have to bring your tent or hammock to set up.

Otra cosa que puedes hacer aquí es acampar, ofrecen todas las comodidades para hacerlo, sólo tienes que llevar tu carpa o hamaca para instalarte.

According to what we were told, this tourism project was created with the objective of allowing visitors to learn a little about the history of Calderas in an entertaining way, and also to pay homage to the town's agricultural producers, especially those dedicated to its star crop, coffee.

Según nos dijeron, este proyecto turístico se hizo con el objetivo de que los visitantes conozcan de manera entretenida un poco de la historia de Calderas, y también para brindarles un homenaje a los productores agrícolas del pueblo, especialmente a los que se dedican a su cultivo estrella, el café.

Without a doubt this coffee-scented theme park is a perfect appetizer for all that Calderas has to offer: mountains, forests, blue rivers, spectacular waterfalls and much more that we visited on this trip and that I will show you in the following posts.

Sin duda este parque temático con aroma a café es un abrebocas perfecto para todo lo que Calderas tiene para ofrecer: montañas, bosques, ríos azules, cascadas espectaculares y mucho más que visitamos en este viaje y les mostraré en las siguientes publicaciones.
