Today begins the month of May, and also commemorates in Venezuela and in several countries, Labor Day. It is a holiday and being midweek, the whole city environment is calmer, as I perceived it this morning when I went early to exercise in the mountain that I usually frequent.

Hoy inicia el mes de mayo, y también se conmemora en Venezuela y en varios países, el Día del Trabajador. Es feriado y al ser mitad de semana, todo el ambiente citadino está más tranquilo, así lo percibí esta mañana cuando me fui bien temprano a ejercitarme en la montaña que suelo frecuentar.

With this post I join the challenge or initiative of @tattoodjay in the Wednesday Walk community, I think it's my first time here, and I come to show you a very cool viewpoint that is located on top of a hill.

Con esta publicación me uno al reto o iniciativa de @tattoodjay en la comunidad de Wednesday Walk, creo que es mi primera vez acá, y vengo a mostrarles un mirador muy chévere que se encuentra en la cima de una colina.

This is The Hiker's Space, an area that not long ago was intervened by one of the hiking groups that frequent the mountain to improve the environment.

Se trata de El Espacio del Senderista, un área que no hace mucho fue intervenida por uno de los grupos de senderismo que hacen vida acá para mejorar el entorno.

They did several things there, for example, they placed some boards as stairs with motivational messages on them.

Allí hicieron varias cosas, por ejemplo, colocaron unas tablas a modo de escaleras con mensajes motivadores.

Also eye-catching decorative elements such as these old boots that are now used as planters and other containers painted for the same purpose.

As this is a viewpoint, benches couldn't be missing, both to sit for a while to rest, and to stay comfortably admiring the mountain scenery.

As you continue up a little further, there is another viewpoint, this one is more spacious and offers more views of both the mountains and the city.

Al continuar subiendo un poco más, hay otro mirador, este es más espacioso y te ofrece más vistas, tanto de las montañas como de la ciudad.

One of the most important things that are being done in this area is undoubtedly reforestation, on each side of the trails and elsewhere, various plant species and trees have been planted, something very necessary because much of the mountain has recently suffered from forest fires.

Precisely, in this area called El Apamate Viewpoint, several of these trees (apamate is the Tabebuia rosea tree) have been planted, hopefully in time they will provide shade, freshness and beauty to the place.

A few steps away is a swinging chair, made from an old wooden trunk and supported by ropes, with wrought iron details on the frame.

A unos pasos más allá está una silla para balancearse, hecha con un viejo tronco de madera y sostenida con sogas, en el marco pusieron unos detalles en hierro forjado.

I stayed there for a while enjoying the views and breathing fresh air while stretching.

Me quedé un rato allí disfrutando de las vistas y respirando aire puro mientras hacía unos estiramientos.

And then I started the descent, the rains are already causing the vegetation to revive and the flowers to appear.

Below I was also lucky enough to see this bird of prey, I think it is a Yellow-headed Caracara (Daptrius chimachima), although I couldn't photograph it as close as I wanted because it ran away from me 😆, it is in these cases that a good zoom lens is needed.

Abajo tuve además la suerte de ver a esta ave rapaz, creo que es un Caricare Sabanero (Daptrius chimachima), aunque no pude fotografiarlo de cerca como quería porque huía de mí 😆, es en estos casos que hace falta un buen lente zoom.
