The charm of little-traveled routes
Since time immemorial human beings have been explorers of their environment, but today few venture into unknown paths for the simple thrill of seeing what lies beyond. However, for some time now I have been walking with those few hahaha, people who get together to make routes through places that often are not famous but that give you the pleasure of feeling that you are discovering something.

This time we went to Miranda state (Venezuela), to a town called Paracotos, walked to the outskirts and entered a trail that led us to a river bed.

Although almost the entire excursion was through flat areas, the difficulty was in the rocky terrain and the river, which although not deep, was next to us almost always, so we had to be careful not to get our shoes wet. Almost all of us had worn boots or sneakers that we didn't want to submerge (how uncomfortable it is to walk with soaked socks!), so we jumped over the rocks to cross at several points, anyway some of us did get a little wet.

In the first stretch we found some dirt walls on the sides, that is, we were walking inside a canyon, I never imagined seeing a landscape like this. You see these mountains from far away on the highway and think that there is only vegetation there, but many of them hide things like this.

Not to mention the plants, when we entered a wooded area there were many tall trees, in one of them I observed these colorful clusters.

One of the goals of this route was the waterfall, although the day was cloudy we had sweated and we all wanted to cool off in the promised waterfall. I estimate that it has a height of about 10 meters, we arrived and some took a dip, I only got my face, neck and arms wet, during this short break we took the opportunity to eat something and sit for a while.

We continued and the trail became narrow and mysterious, the lush vegetation that surrounded us gave that touch to the atmosphere.

How long had it been since anyone had walked here? We passed by a place that had a fallen log above the river and further on a wall that we climbed over, it looked like an old bridge but I'm not sure if it was a human construction or a work of nature.

Nearby also appeared a small waterfall with strangely shaped stones.

Finally we reached a part where in the distance we began to see some houses, in this area there are some farms and many plots of land where vegetables are grown. Here the road was uphill and when we reached a high point we could contemplate the beauty of the place.

After about 15 km in total, the route ended in El Prado, near the town of San Diego de Los Altos, where we took a bus back to the city.

Except for the one mentioned with its credit, all photos were taken by me

Enriching experience, my dear friend. If I had known all those places when I lived in Caracas I would have visited them without a doubt. Now that I do it in Argentina I know I missed a lot back in Venezuela.
Today I will share a post about one of the places I visited on my vacations. I'll mention you in that post, I hope it doesn't bother you 🙂

These are my kind of walking places. I don't have access to that but wow, so lovely. It's become quite clear to me that Venezuela is an absolutely beautiful place.😊
