Scorched landscapes 🔥 Paisajes quemados - Monomad Challenge

I had seen on the news that this mountain had suffered severe fires; the images were terrible, but seeing it in person was much more shocking.

Había visto en las noticias que este cerro había sufrido incendios severos; las imágenes eran terribles, pero verlo en vivo y directo fue mucho más impactante.

So that hiking trail also turned into a morning spent capturing these scorched landscapes with my camera. A part of nature that has died, or rather, been killed by the thoughtlessness of some people.

Así que esa ruta de senderismo se convirtió también en una mañana para registrar con mi cámara estos paisajes quemados. Una parte de la naturaleza muerta, o mejor dicho, asesinada por la inconsciencia de algunas personas.

These almost apocalyptic visions were also accompanied by the smell of burning wood and grass.

Estas visiones casi apocalípticas estaban además acompañadas por un olor a madera y pasto quemados.

As I climbed the mountain, I thought about how terrifying it must be to be trapped there in the middle of a fire. Sadly, many animals have to go through that.

Mientras iba subiendo la montaña, pensaba en lo desesperante que debe ser quedar atrapada allí en pleno incendio. Eso, tristemente, lo sufren muchos animales.

The scorched ground looked like a matte black carpet, and the charred leaves crunched among the grayish ashes.

El suelo chamuscado era como una alfombra de un color negro mate, y las hojas quemadas crujían entre las cenizas grisáceas.

Fortunately, after climbing about 2 km, there were no longer any signs of damage. The fires had not spread to the highest part of the mountain.

Afortunadamente, luego de unos 2 Km de ascenso, ya no se veían partes afectadas. Los incendios no se habían extendido hasta la parte más alta de la montaña.

On my way down, I took a couple more photos of the damage, and then I was glad that the rainy season is already here and that these scorched landscapes will soon regain their lush greenery.

Bajando, capturé un par de imágenes más de los daños, y luego me alegré de que la temporada de lluvias ya esté aquí y de que pronto estos paisajes quemados recuperarán su exuberante verdor.
