Promise in progress | Monomad Challenge [ENG-ESP]
The last time I saw this attempt of a pool, a couple of years ago, it was full of water. It had become a pond where birds, insects and other animals came to drink or live, there were even some fish in there.
La última vez que vi este intento de piscina, hace un par de años, estaba lleno de agua. Se había convertido en un estanque donde aves, insectos y otros animales venían a beber o a vivir, incluso había algunos peces allí.
It has been a project within a public park in the city for many years, and at the beginning of this year the mayor's office announced that it would be finished for the enjoyment of the population.
Tiene muchos años siendo un proyecto dentro de un parque público de la ciudad, y a principios de este año la alcaldía anunció que la iban a terminar para el disfrute de la población.
I was passing by a few days ago, I remembered that, and I decided to go in to see if the works had already started. I approached and although there were no people working there, there were changes, the pond was gone, the water was emptied and there was earth moving around.
Pasaba por ahí hace unos días, me acordé de eso, y decidí entrar a ver si ya habían comenzado las obras. Me acerqué y aunque no había gente trabajando allí, si había cambios, ya no estaba el estanque, vaciaron el agua y en los alrededores había movimiento de tierra.
The walls of the future pool were marked with white paint, it looked like a measurement.
Las paredes de la futura piscina estaban marcadas con pintura blanca, parecía como una medición.
Around the empty rectangle there are some channels, I guess they are to supply water to the pool. There was some garbage and dry leaves from the trees accumulated there, which means that the work on this site has not been very constant.
Alrededor del rectángulo vacío hay unos canales, supongo que son para surtir de agua a la piscina. Allí había algo de basura y hojas secas de los árboles acumuladas, lo que quiere decir que el trabajo en esta obra no ha sido muy constante.
I liked the shapes I saw here, the straight lines of the cement contrasting with the nature surrounding the building, so I took a few minutes and took these photos for the #monomad challenge.
Me gustaron las formas que ví aquí, las líneas rectas del cemento que contrastan con la naturaleza que rodea la construcción, por eso me tomé unos minutos e hice estas fotos para el reto #monomad.
Let's hope that this time the swimming pool project will be finished, and if not, here are these images as witnesses of another unfulfilled political promise...
Esperemos que esta vez el proyecto de la piscina sea terminado, y si no, aquí quedan estas imágenes como testigos de otra promesa política incumplida...
