On foot was better 👣 A pie fue mejor
I used to pass this road by bus from Monday to Friday during my college years, but I had never walked there until yesterday.

This is the beginning of the road La Victoria - San Mateo (Aragua State - Venezuela) or Panamerican Highway, as I studied near Maracay, this was my daily route, I traveled it hundreds of times.

Yesterday I headed to that area to attend an event at a place I was not familiar with, which I will show you in detail in another post. From my house it is about a 20 minute walk to reach the bridge over Las Piedras river, if my memory serves me correctly, this bridge used to be made of concrete, it probably deteriorated and they replaced it with this iron one.

It has been raining a lot these days and the water level has risen a bit, I stopped for a while to watch the river, watching the traffic because the bridge is a bit narrow, and I saw a person down there, I think he was trying to break a stone with a tool.

Passing the bridge the landscape remains more or less the same as I remembered it, with a lot of huge trees on both sides of the road, which sometimes meet at the top forming a tunnel.

As there was no sun at all and the sky was full of clouds, the pictures did not turn out as I would have liked, the white light was getting in everywhere.

But even in these climatic conditions, the scenery in this part of the Aragua valleys is still beautiful. There is a lot of agricultural activity here, sugar cane, corn, bananas and plantains are some of the main crops.

Although the hike here was not very long, it was too nice to go through this area again and do it on foot, so it is more enjoyable, and also to see that it still has a lot of greenery and that the land is productive.
