A trail that starts among some crops and continues into the forest is the landscape you will find if you make the excursion to Pozo Azul (Blue Well), a natural beauty located in Cojedes state, Venezuela, near the town of Tinaquillo.

Un sendero que se inicia entre algunos sembradíos y continúa hasta internarte en el bosque es el paisaje que te encontrarás si haces la excursión hacia Pozo Azul, belleza natural ubicada en el estado Cojedes, Venezuela, cerca del pueblo de Tinaquillo.

I went with a group of friends and we had a great time, the route is approximately 6 km long, full of greenery, river crossings and a somewhat mysterious atmosphere as the vegetation becomes denser and the path narrower as you get closer to the finish line.

Fui con un grupo de amigos y la pasamos genial, la ruta es de aproximadamente 6 Km, llenos de verdor, pasos de río y un ambiente algo misterioso a medida que la vegetación se pone más densa y el camino angosto cuando te vas acercando a la meta.

The river crossings are not very dangerous, the water level is low, but it is better to cross them carefully because there are many rocks. Some people take off their shoes and others use the rocks as a bridge.

Los pasos de río no implican mayor peligro, el agua tiene nivel bajo, pero es mejor cruzarlos con cuidado porque hay muchas piedras. Hay gente que se quita los zapatos y otros que usan las rocas como puente.

When Pozo Azul is just around the corner, the color of the water changes radically to a kind of turquoise hue.

Ya cuando Pozo Azul está a la vuelta de la esquina, el color del agua cambia radicalmente a una tonalidad como turquesa.

The day was very sunny but thanks to this forest we were immersed in, we felt cool. The light filtering through the trees painted figures on the ground and made the river water sparkle even more. In general, the environment seemed to me like from a fantastic movie, the only thing missing was for magical beings to make an appearance...

El día estuvo muy soleado pero gracias a este bosque en el que estábamos inmersos, nos sentíamos frescos. La luz que se colaba entre los árboles pintaba figuras en el suelo y hacía que el agua del río brillara más. En general, el entorno me pareció sacado como de una película fantástica, sólo faltaba que seres mágicos hicieran acto de presencia por ahí...

We finally arrived at Pozo Azul and we were all delighted with what we saw.

Finalmente llegamos a Pozo Azul y todos quedamos encantados con lo que vimos.

There were already a few people in the place, we left our things sheltered with someone from the group in a place and we didn't waste time. When I entered the water, it was very cold, but after swimming for a while, I adapted. Pozo Azul has two parts, the well that you find first when you arrive and then if you swim to the mini waterfall and climb up the rock, on the other side is another larger and deeper well with a waterfall of about 8 meters.

Ya había algunas personas en el lugar, dejamos nuestras cosas resguardadas con alguien del grupo en un sitio y no perdimos tiempo. Cuando entré al agua, estaba muy fría, pero al quedarme un rato nadando, me adapté. Pozo Azul tiene dos partes, el pozo que te encuentras primero al llegar y luego si nadas hacia la mini cascada y subes por la roca, del otro lado está otro pozo más grande y profundo y con una cascada de unos 8 metros.

In this second well is where there is more action because people climb on the rocks around to jump from the top. You can also jump down the natural slide that has the waterfall.

En este segundo pozo es donde hay más acción porque la gente se encarama en las rocas que hay alrededor para lanzarse desde lo alto. También puedes lanzarte por el tobogán natural que tiene la cascada.

I was fascinated by the wildness of this landscape, with the forest, its extravagant rock formations and the intense blue of its waters.

Me fascinó lo salvaje de este paisaje, con el bosque, sus extravagantes formaciones rocosas y el azul intenso de sus aguas.

This kind of outings to places not too far away but in the middle of nature, are perfect for a Saturday or Sunday and help you feel good all week 😀.

Este tipo de salidas a sitios no muy lejanos pero en medio de la naturaleza, son perfectas para un sábado o domingo y te ayudan a sentirte bien toda la semana 😀.
