Art always expands your senses, and if apart from just looking it allows you to participate, the experience will be even more impactful and enriching.

Some time ago I visited the Museum of Printmaking and Design Carlos Cruz-Diez, located on Bolivar Avenue in Caracas (Venezuela), by Paseo Vargas, and I immersed myself in color.

In room 3, called Cruz-Diez Space, is the permanent exhibition Chromosaturation Chamber, an installation conceived by this master of color that was mounted in 2004. It has 52 square meters that you can cross to live an experience you will not forget. I immortalized mine with several self-portraits.

But what exactly is it about? Well, the artist's official website explains that: "Chromosaturation is an artificial environment composed of three color chambers, one red, one green and one blue, which immerse the visitor in an absolute monochrome (one color) situation. This experience causes disturbances in the retina, which is accustomed to simultaneously perceiving wide ranges of colors."

As I passed through each of these rooms I was enveloped in the intensity of each color. I read an interview with the master Carlos Cruz-Diez and he explained that the first time he noticed this phenomenon was when he was in the Venezuelan plains during a sunset, everything turned orange and the colors of the surrounding elements disappeared, such as the plants, the tone of the clothes, the sky, absolutely everything became bright orange. From then on, he began to experiment.

As you walk through the Chromosaturation Chamber, depending on where you are standing, you can also perceive in some corners the range of colors generated by the combination of blue, red and green.

Dear @sofathana. I appreciate you sharing your experience at the museum, must have been nice to experience all those colors. Unfortunately the photos you took of yourself are pretty blurry. We don't support selfies in this community anyway and the majority of your photos are selfies. Next time please focus on photo quality. Thank you!

Hi @erikah, thanks for your comment! I don't usually share selfies, but this time I wanted to show how people can look like inside this particular art installation, I should have placed it in another community, sorry.

😂 Thank you @phortun! It's not really my style to share selfies, but I wanted to show how people look as they go through this artistic experiment with light and color, and I myself was what I had on hand at the time 😂.
