Exotic forest / Bosque exótico

There are many natural forests in Venezuela, fortunately, with typical vegetation of these tropical lands, but there are also sites intervened by human hands like the one I will show you below.

Hay muchos bosques naturales en Venezuela, afortunadamente, con vegetación típica de estas tierras tropicales, pero también hay sitios intervenidos por la mano del ser humano como el que les mostraré a continuación.

It is a pine forest, this particular one is located in Miranda state (near Caracas), within the Macarao National Park.

Se trata de un bosque de pinos, este en particular está ubicado en el estado Miranda (cerca de Caracas), dentro del Parque Nacional Macarao.

We hiked a couple of hours from San Pedro de Los Altos to get there. The place is really beautiful, it is well kept and there are park rangers who give you all the information you need.

Hicimos una caminata de un par de horas desde San Pedro de Los Altos para llegar hasta allí. El lugar es verdaderamente hermoso, está bien cuidado y hay guardaparques que te dan toda la información que necesites.

As I mentioned at the beginning, this pine forest is not natural, these trees were planted by humans, just like the eucalyptus trees that are also seen here.

Como mencioné al principio, este bosque de pinos no es natural, estos árboles fueron plantados por el ser humano, al igual que los eucaliptos que también se ven acá.

Pine is native to the northern hemisphere, so a forest of this type in Venezuela is somewhat exotic. The park rangers told us that this place was created around 1970, although they didn't specify if it was for environmental purposes or to take advantage of the wood, the truth is that it is very well preserved and there is even a nursery with different species of plants.

El pino es nativo del Hemisferio Norte, por lo que un bosque de este tipo en Venezuela es algo exótico. Los guardaparques nos dijeron que este lugar se creó alrededor de 1970, aunque no precisaron si fue con fines ambientales o para aprovechar la madera, lo cierto es que lo conservan muy bien y hasta hay un vivero con diferentes especies de plantas.

When you go up to access the forest area, everything around you tucks you in, the trees are very tall and the smell that characterizes them fills the atmosphere.

Cuando vas subiendo para acceder al área del bosque, todo alrededor te arropa, los árboles son altísimos y el olor que los caracteriza inunda el ambiente.

Another thing that stands out is the ground, it is full of the needles (leaves) that the pines release in a deep reddish-brown color. The amount of them makes you feel some cushioning when walking on them.

Otra cosa resaltante es el suelo, está lleno de las acículas (hojas) que sueltan los pinos de un color marrón-rojizo intenso. La cantidad que hay hace que sientas algo de amortiguación al caminar sobre ellas.

The pine forest of Macarao National Park is well known among hikers and has also become a popular place for camping and photography.

El bosque de pinos del Parque Nacional Macarao es bastante conocido entre la gente que hace senderismo y también se ha vuelto un lugar popular para acampar y hacer fotografías.

No doubt it is full of photogenic corners everywhere. A mystery session would look great here, don't you think?

Sin duda está lleno de rincones fotogénicos por todos lados. Una sesión misteriosa quedaría muy bien por aquí, ¿no creen?

Although the day was warm, as soon as we dived here it seemed as if we had traveled far away, surely at night it is quite cold among this vegetation.

Aunque el día estaba caluroso, apenas nos sumergimos aquí parecía que habíamos viajado lejos, seguramente de noche hace bastante frío entre esta vegetación.

We took a short walk around to explore the surroundings and then rested for a while in the forest, a 100% recommended place for nature lovers 😉.

Hicimos una caminata corta por ahí para explorar los alrededores y luego descansamos un rato en el bosque, un lugar 100% recomendado para los amantes de la naturaleza 😉.
