An afternoon among thousands of roses 🌹🌹 Una tarde entre miles de rosas

Walking through a park is always a pleasant and relaxing activity, and if the park also offers you something special, the experience is even better.

Pasear por un parque siempre es una actividad placentera y relajante, y si además el parque te ofrece algo especial, la experiencia es aún mejor.

A few years ago, I spent a month in the Argentine capital taking a course, and on my days off, which were Saturdays and Sundays, I took advantage of the opportunity to explore some of the city's attractions. One of those weekends, most of my classmates decided to head to the coast, but I didn't go with them because I wanted to explore Buenos Aires, and among the places I visited during those days was the one I'm sharing with you here: El Rosedal (The Rose Garden).

Hace unos años estuve durante un mes en la capital argentina haciendo un curso, y en mis días libres, que eran sábados y domingos, aprovechaba para conocer algunas atracciones de la ciudad. Uno de esos fines de semana, la mayoría de mis compañeros de clases decidieron irse a la costa, pero yo no fui con ellos porque quería pasear dentro de Buenos Aires, y entre los lugares que visité esos días está el que les comparto aquí: El Rosedal.

Located within Parque 3 de Febrero, in the Palermo area, El Rosedal is a 3.4-hectare garden, and according to the information I saw there, it houses about 18,000 rose bushes. Isn't that incredible?

Ubicado dentro del Parque 3 de Febrero, en la zona de Palermo, El Rosedal es un jardín de 3,4 hectáreas, y según la información que vi allí, alberga unos 18.000 rosales. ¿No es increíble?

They say October is the best month to see roses in all their splendor, but this walk was in November and there were still plenty of flowers everywhere.

Dicen que octubre es el mejor mes para ver las rosas en todo su esplendor, pero este paseo fue en noviembre y aún había muchas flores por todas partes.

El Rosedal, designed by renowned French landscaper Carlos Thays, was inaugurated in 1914. Its attractions include a lake and the Greek Bridge that crosses it, the amphitheater, an Andalusian patio, and the Garden of Poets, which pays tribute to several famous writers, both Argentine and from other countries.

El Rosedal, diseñado por el reconocido paisajista francés Carlos Thays, fue inaugurado en 1914. Entre sus atractivos está un lago y el Puente Griego que lo cruza, el anfiteatro, un Patio Andaluz y el Jardín de los Poetas, que rinde homenaje a varios escritores famosos, tanto argentinos como de otros países.

I walked along the garden's various paths without following the map, letting myself go, and since I hadn't researched this place beforehand, everything I saw surprised me. Not only are there some 93 species of roses here, but there are other flowers as well, trees, birds, and all within a beautiful and well-maintained landscape.

Caminé por los diferentes senderos del jardín sin seguir el mapa, dejándome llevar, y como antes de ir no había investigado cómo era este lugar, todo lo que iba viendo me sorprendía. No sólo hay unas 93 especies de rosas aquí, hay otras flores también, árboles, pájaros, y todo dentro de un paisajismo hermoso y muy bien cuidado.

In one part of the garden, I saw bikes for rent, and of course, I took advantage of the opportunity to ride around the place a few times. It was a half hour that I enjoyed too much; there was a pleasant smell in the air and a fresh breeze. Of course, I also stopped from time to time to take photos.

En una parte del jardín vi que alquilaban bicicletas, y por supuesto aproveché para dar unas buenas vueltas por todo el lugar. Fue una media hora que disfruté demasiado; había un agradable olor en el ambiente y una fresca brisa. Claro, también me detuve de vez en cuando para tomar fotos.

Then I came across a funny scene starring ducks and geese, with humans approaching them to feed them as supporting actors. Some children were a little scared, but these animals weren't at all aggressive.

Luego me topé con una divertida escena protagonizada por patos y gansos, y como actores secundarios los humanos que se les acercaban para darles comida. Algunos niños tenían algo de miedo, pero estos animales no eran para nada agresivos.

And suddenly, in the green areas around the lake, a mother goose appeared with her chicks, they had also gone for a walk 😊, aren't they adorable?

Y de repente, en las áreas verdes alrededor del lago, apareció una mamá ganso con sus crías, también habían salido a pasear 😊, ¿no son adorables?

El Rosedal is one of the most visited places in Buenos Aires, and not just on Saturdays and Sundays, thousands of people come every day of the week.

El Rosedal es uno de los lugares más visitados de Buenos Aires, y no sólo los sábados y domingos, van miles de personas cualquier día de la semana.

Getting to know this place was a novel experience for me because there is no garden with these characteristics in my country.

Conocer este lugar fue para mí una experiencia novedosa porque en mi país no existe un jardín con estas características.

So if you're ever in the Argentine capital, I highly recommend going to El Rosedal, you will enjoy it!
