Amazonian nature [ENG-ESP]

The south of Venezuela is full of stunning nature and is so huge that I think it takes months to get to explore even 50% of what it has.

El sur de Venezuela está lleno de naturaleza impactante y es tan enorme que pienso se necesitan meses para llegar a explorar aunque sea un 50% de lo que tiene.

In this post I share images of Amazonas state, the second largest in Venezuela (177,617 km²), which I took during a one-week trip I made a few years ago, and in which I had the opportunity to see beautiful natural places, scarcely intervened by humans.

En esta publicación comparto imágenes del estado Amazonas, el segundo más grande de Venezuela (177.617 km²), las cuales tomé durante un viaje de una semana que hice unos años atrás, y en el que tuve la oportunidad de conocer bellos lugares naturales, escasamente intervenidos por el ser humano.

The main thing that the Amazonas state offers to the visitor are its spas, there are hundreds, but not all are known, perhaps the most emblematic is the Slide of the Jungle (Tobogán de la Selva). This place is called this way because of the enormous stone of several meters of extension that with the circulation of the water turns into a natural slide, it is very amusing to see the people throwing themselves by there.

Lo principal que ofrece el estado Amazonas al visitante son sus balnearios, hay cientos, pero no todos son conocidos, quizás el más emblemático es el Tobogán de la Selva. Este lugar se llama así por la enorme piedra de varios metros de extensión que con la circulación del agua se convierte en un tobogán natural, es muy divertido ver a la gente lanzarse por allí.

As it is a busy place, over the years its surroundings have been intervened a little to offer some services to tourists, but it seems to me that it hasn't lost its essence.

Como es un sitio concurrido, a lo largo de los años se intervinieron un poco sus alrededores para ofrecer algunos servicios a los turistas, pero me parece no ha perdido su esencia.

The roads around here are very attractive, I mean, what you see on every side. Wide green horizons, huge black rocks, metal bridges over mighty rivers, jungle... You really want to stop every moment to take a better look.

Las carreteras por aquí son muy atractivas, quiero decir, lo que ves a cada lado. Amplios horizontes verdes, enormes rocas negras, puentes de metal sobre caudalosos ríos, selva... De verdad a cada momento te quieres detener para observar mejor.

And the people you meet are very relaxed, no one seems to be in a hurry around these parts, and since it is very hot, they enjoy their rivers at all hours.

Y la gente que te encuentras es muy relajada, nadie parece estar apurado por estos lados, y como hace mucho calor, disfrutan de sus ríos a toda hora.

Of course that's where I went too, to immerse myself in the waters of the Amazon, during this trip I visited several spas, the one I show below is Pozo Azul (Blue Well).

Por supuesto a eso fui también, a sumergirme en las aguas amazonenses, durante este viaje conocí varios balnearios, el que muestro a continuación es Pozo Azul.

I was fascinated by the color of the water and its pleasant temperature, its clay soil and the vegetation that creates a certain mystery. Do not forget that there is a lot of wildlife here although it is not easy to see, for example this is the habitat of the anacondas, ideal right? At least it's easy to see them if they are close 😂.

Quedé fascinada por el color del agua y su temperatura agradable, su suelo arcilloso y la vegetación que crea cierto misterio. No hay que olvidar que hay mucha fauna aquí aunque no sea fácil verla, por ejemplo este es el hábitat de las anacondas, ¿ideal no? Al menos es fácil verlas si están cerca 😂.

Over there was a boy cutting this palm, I didn't ask him what for but I assumed that it would have some use, in these lands inhabit the largest number of indigenous groups in Venezuela and they use natural resources for their activities and customs. For example, with the moriche palm (Mauritia flexuosa) they make baskets, handicrafts, medicines, construction, among other interesting things.

Por allí estaba un niño cortando esta palma, no le pregunté para qué pero supuse que alguna utilidad le daría, en estas tierras habita la mayor cantidad de grupos indígenas de Venezuela y ellos usan los recursos naturales para sus actividades y costumbres. Por ejemplo con la palma de moriche (Mauritia flexuosa) hacen cestas, artesanía, medicinas, construyen, entre otras interesantes cosas.

Being the least populated state of Venezuela, outside its capital (Puerto Ayacucho) you won't find a lot of people. On this trip I made with friends we took advantage of many lonely places to take pictures, and when the sunset was near, we didn't miss it.

Al ser el estado menos poblado de Venezuela, fuera de su capital (Puerto Ayacucho) no encontrarás gran circulación de gente. En este viaje que hice con amigos aprovechamos muchos lugares solitarios para hacer fotos, y cuando el atardecer estaba cerca, no nos lo perdimos.

The mountains or elevations of black rocks is something that doesn't go unnoticed here, you can see them in several parts, their shapes are so strange. When you do a little research on the geography of the Amazon, you learn that it is on the Guiana Shield, one of the oldest geological formations on the planet.

Las montañas o elevaciones de rocas negras es algo que no pasa desapercibido aquí, las puedes ver en varias partes, son tan extrañas sus formas. Cuando investigas un poco sobre la geografía del Amazonas, te enteras que está sobre el Escudo Guayanés, una de las formaciones geológicas más antiguas del planeta.

Another thing that also stands out is the reddish color of the earth, in some parts it has merged with the asphalt of the road.

Otra cosa que también resalta es el color rojizo de la tierra, en algunas partes se ha fundido con el asfalto de la carretera.

We liked the quiet spas but we also wanted to see more plentiful waters, so we went to Morganito Port, with the idea of navigating the Orinoco River and bathing in one of its beaches.

Nos gustaron los tranquilos balnearios pero también queríamos ver aguas más caudalosas, y para eso fuimos hasta el Puerto de Morganito, con la idea de navegar por el río Orinoco y bañarnos en alguna de sus playas.

There we took the boat that left us on the shore of a river beach, a place with a beauty difficult to describe.

Allí tomamos la lancha que nos dejó en la orilla de una playa del río, un lugar con una belleza difícil de describir.

We bathed in the warm tea-colored waters of the Orinoco River, the afternoon was a little cloudy but the sun came out at times and gave a magical golden hue to everything.

Nos bañamos en las cálidas aguas color té del río Orinoco, la tarde estaba algo nublada pero el sol salía a ratos y le daba una mágica tonalidad dorada a todo.

On the last day of this week long trip we went to a spa with a very funny name: "The joy of the charro", nobody could tell me why it was called that way, but without a doubt spending a few hours here gave us happiness 😃.

El último día de este viaje de una semana fuimos a un balneario con un nombre muy gracioso: "La alegría del charro", nadie me supo decir por qué se llamaba así, pero sin duda pasar unas horas aquí nos dio felicidad 😃.
