A photo shoot with my sister | Monomad Challenge [ENG-ESP]

Some time ago, before I had this blog, I planned this photo shoot with my sister @gatubela, with no other goal than to have fun and do something different.

Although we are not fashionistas girls, since we were teenagers we have browsed fashion magazines like Elle or Vogue, and we thought of recreating the concept of fashion shoots that usually appear in those publications, but without many pretensions, with the resources we had at hand.

It was the weekend, we had no other occupations, and we agreed to start with the photos at about 5:00 pm, we wanted to take advantage of the natural light that came in at that time in some parts of the house, although in spaces like the living room, we turned on the light bulb to get better results.

As for the concept, what we wanted to show was a rocker girl with a lot of attitude and self-confidence. The clothes were mine and the shoes and other accessories were my sister's, who was also in charge of her styling, hair and makeup.

The ideal would have been to have several outfits, but we didn't have more clothes of that style, so we tried to make the interesting part of the session not only the clothes but also the different environments in which the model appears and the poses to express what we wanted.

Although what I have always done is travel photography (natural landscapes, towns, cities, etc), I also really enjoy this kind of sessions where you can play a little more with your creativity. And of course, in this case I was lucky because I had my sister, who for me is a model, if she had wanted to, she could have dedicated herself to it successfully.

These shots that we hadn’t even shared on social networks, are my entry to the #monomad challenge. I hope you liked this session, despite some limitations, we were happy with the results.

Hace tiempo, antes de que tuviera este blog, planeé esta sesión de fotos con mi hermana @gatubela, sin otro objetivo más que divertirnos y hacer algo diferente.

Aunque no somos unas chicas fashionistas, desde adolescentes hemos hojeado revistas de moda como Elle o Vogue, y se nos ocurrió recrear ese concepto de sesiones de moda que suelen aparecer en esas publicaciones, pero sin muchas pretensiones, con los recursos que teníamos a mano.

Era fin de semana, no teníamos otras ocupaciones, y acordamos empezar con las fotos como a las 5:00 de la tarde, queríamos aprovechar la luz natural que entraba a esa hora en algunas partes de la casa, aunque en espacios como la sala, encendimos el bombillo para tener mejores resultados.

En cuanto al concepto, lo que queríamos mostrar era a una chica rockera con mucha actitud y seguridad en sí misma. La ropa era mía y los zapatos y demás accesorios de mi hermana, quien también se encargó de su estilismo, peinado y maquillaje.

Lo ideal hubiese sido contar con varias vestimentas, pero no teníamos más prendas de ese estilo, entonces tratamos de que lo interesante de la sesión no fuera simplemente la ropa sino también los diferentes ambientes en que aparece la modelo y las poses para expresar lo que queríamos.

Aunque lo que más he hecho desde siempre es fotografía de viajes (paisajes naturales, pueblos, ciudades, etc), también disfruto mucho este tipo de sesiones donde puedes jugar un poco más con tu creatividad. Y claro, en este caso fui afortunada porque conté con mi hermana, que para mí es toda una modelo, si hubiese querido se habría podido dedicar a eso con éxito.

Estas tomas que ni siquiera habíamos compartido en redes sociales, son mi entrada al reto #monomad. Espero les haya gustado esta sesión, a pesar de algunas limitaciones, nosotras quedamos contentas con los resultados.
