Sunday's homeless meal is today, and we found another camp this month!

We are cooking for the homeless meal again, and it should be a good meal! This time we will make chicken and rice (back by popular demand), pizza, macaroni and cheese, green bean casserole, beef stew, chili, mixed vegetables in butter, and Cole slaw.

We actually fed 92 last time, but I'm hoping for over a hundred this time! Delivering them to the camps has been the best way to do this, since they must hide from the mayor.

This is where the line begins:

We grab two carry-out plates, and walk the line. These go in containers based on the size of the hidden camp we're feeding. When the container is full, it is taken to the delivery cars, and dispersed while it's still hot.

It stays real busy for about an hour:

We had 5 homeless carry their own plates down the line last month. Hoping to build on that too!

All these volunteers have helped for so long that this runs as a well oiled machine. They are careful to make good meals, that can be eaten several times....

We wrap the pizza slices in foil so they can eat it the next day. They use the foil to cook something else later in the coals, so when we have extra foil, we double wrap them. They like baked potatoes for the same reason, but we don't precut the foil, so they can reuse it!

With it hot, we've been doubling up on water bottles. They reuse these too, several camps are close to sympathetic businesses. They let them use their outside water and restrooms, and GOD will bless these business owners! I buy from them when I can, and thank them for helping.
