Making university, making change

To be positive is also to participate, to contribute, to create, to assume that we are part of a whole that must continue to evolve, to adopt a lifestyle for change.

For all that, I started this week attending a talk at the university, about "autism seen from the paradigm of neurodiversity", this topic calling for inclusion and opening spaces for everyone.

I loved the psychologist in charge of the talk (Edwin Rosario), he was sweet and intelligent and started explaining those important points to recognize autism, he talked about degrees of autism and that depending on those degrees the need for support of the person who presents it is determined.

The beauty of the psychologist's mastery of the subject is that in addition to his freshness, he begins by confessing his own diagnosis with autism spectrum, which is commendable and also admirable because he calls himself an example of overcoming and integrating into society.

Events like this give us a new perspective that we can. I really like to think about the rescue of the university in terms of what it once was, and what it is now, unfortunately many factors have hit the classrooms, but there are still people who call us to be present and personally I like the idea of being a positive part of the changes and those new adjustments needed.

In addition, always in a learning environment we discover something that fills us, that reaches us, for example I recognize that my thinking often diverges from the rest, and this is good, being different is good, it is often even necessary to be able to contribute more ideas and create new things.

I think it is positive that topics that open new spaces for everyone are addressed. And I am excited that soon we will enter a new student semester with inclusiveness, because today, new challenges, new experiences and some smiles are added to the experience of my lifestyle as a university professor. Here we go!.. Again

Hacer universidad, hacer el cambio

Ser positivos también es participar, aportar, crear, asumir que somos parte de un todo que debe seguir evolucionando, adoptar un estilo de vida para el cambio.

Por todo eso, inicié esta semana asistiendo a una charla en la universidad, sobre "el autismo visto desde el paradigma de la neurodiversidad", este tema llamando a la inclusión y a abrir espacios para todos.

El psicólogo a cargo de la charla (Edwin Rosario) me encantó, se notaba de carácter dulce e inteligente y comenzó explicando esos puntos importantes para reconocer el autismo, hablo de grados de autismo y que dependiendo de esos grados se determina la necesidad de apoyo de la persona que lo presenta.

Lo bonito del dominio del tema por parte del psicólogo, es que además de su frescura, comienza confesando su propio diagnóstico con espectro autista, lo que es loable y además admirable porque él se autodenomina ejemplo de superación e integración en la sociedad.

Eventos como este nos da una nueva perspectiva de que podemos. Me gusta mucho pensar en el rescate de la universidad en cuánto a la que antes fue, y la que ahora es, lamentablemente muchos factores han golpeado las aulas, pero todavía hay personas que nos llaman a estar presentes y en lo personal me gusta la idea de ser parte positiva de los cambios y esos nuevos ajustes necesarios.

Además, siempre en un entorno de aprendizaje descubrimos algo que nos llena, que nos llega, por ejemplo reconozco que mi pensamiento muchas veces diverge del resto, y esto está bien, ser diferentes está bien, muchas veces es hasta necesario para poder aportar más ideas y crear nuevas cosas.

Me parece positivo que se aborden temas que abran nuevos espacios para todos. Y me emociona que próximamente nos adentramos a un nuevo semestre estudiantil con inclusividad, porque hoy, nuevos retos, nuevas experiencias y algunas sonrisas se agregan a la experiencia de mi estilo de vida como profesora universitaria. ¡Allá vamos!...
