Share Our World: Catching our lunch at the Rainbow Trout Farm
During our girl's weekend in Sedona we were each in charge of a meal. I had heard about the Rainbow Trout farm so I picked lunch and we had fresh caught rainbow trout and veggies on the BBQ.
After a short hike in West Fork Canyon we went to the trout farm which is located just off 89A north of Sedona.
Here I am with my fish.
This fish farm stocks rainbow trout. The fish are hatched from eggs and raised on property. We were able to get a simple fishpole and bait and catch our own fish.

They cleaned the fish on the property (well worth the fee). I had prepared some veggies to grill with the fish. We had a great lunch. Thank goodness for the shade of the trees too.

It was a fun adventure and not too expensive.

I only caught one. It was really hard to get the hook out, I had to have someone else do it and lost the desire to catch another one after all the blood. :(

Catching fish and eating it yourself has its own fun. A few months ago, when it was cold, our friends also went and we caught the fish ourselves and cooked and ate it at night. Such an adventure is a lot of fun and the time passes very well.
