Norwegian Sheep

avatar

According to Mallofnorway.com

Norway has a strong tradition in sheep farming and wool manufacturing – an old tradition that dates back to long before the Viking era. It is estimated that the first sheep came to Norway more than 6,000 years ago.

Here are my experiences with Norwegian sheep during my trip.

Day 1

I knew that I wanted a cute Norwegian wool sweater and got it on my first day, in Bergen. The second picture is at sunset right before getting to our airbnb.

Day 2

@jarvie's friends fed as a Traditional Norway dinner- Farikal – Mutton and Cabbage

Day 5

There were a lot of sheep in this part of Norway, up by Flam.

Day 6

We stayed at Solneset, a sheep farm and got to get some great photos of they sheep here, especially with the fog.

This post is in direct response to @callmesmile request to see more sheep pictures.

Such a beautiful post, I do have a Norwegian Jumper in a box somewhere a gift from a work colleague a few years back, trying to show their sheep wool was as good as if not better than NZ wool LOL

Thank you so much. I am sure that was a fun debate! I like my sweater. I will have to also get one on NZ and then I can have an opinion! :)

Thank you. I hope you do get to visit one day. The lighting was really great right before dinner, so I got a really good picture of the meal. :)

Happy sheeps on the grass. In our country there are less and less shepherds.

That is true @cars-art, at least ones that roam with them. They keep them in more enclosed areas and are able to take care of them without being right there with them.

You are certainly getting to see a few fine specimens there !!! They are quite popular here in Scotland too - all over the place !!!

Yes, they are cool animals, especially in this country that gets so cold, they have a lot more wool to protect them.

Olittle!!!😍 I'm in love with the scenery, thank you so much @sjarvie5 for granting my wish!😍
I felt sorry though that it took me two days to reply to this awesome post of yours,* I was a little busy*.

The beautiful view of the sheep with the fog in the background felt like I was there in the place too!
