Deadman's Pass Hike

avatar

When we were in Sedona we did many hikes. It is a hikers dream come true... so many great trails in the gorgeous red rocks.

One of the hikes I was most excited about with the Birthing Cave. We didn't make it. We started at the Mescal trail too late in the evening. I did learn that you should start at the Long Canyon Trail head.

We ended up hiking for about an hour, at sunset, on Deadman's Pass. It was so beautiful.

These red rock walls were on our left as we started the hike.

This hike gets a 8/10

Sara's RatingPart of hikeMy thoughts
2Access to trailEasy access, there is parking right by the trailhead
2DifficultyIt is a very easy walk
2ViewsGreat views the whole time
1DestinationWe didn't make it to our destination, it is a nice trail
1Time on trialI was on the trail just under an hour, you can turn around anytime

I don't know if I would drive all the way out to Boynton Canyon area to hike just this trail. I would do this trail again in combination with another hike in the area!

Hiking in Sedona is really amazing!

Such a beautiful place to visit, A perfect place to do some hiking, was there any weird thing? I mean snake or such kind of other species? I'm imagining the view from the top of this place.

Yes, perfect for hiking. Nope, we didn't see any animals on the trail. We started the hike with a couple, they turned off on another trail to find an alien vortex, that was interesting! :)

One of my favorite places on Earth! My wife and I have spent part of the winter there for the last three years. The hiking is like nowhere else!

Hello @ericvancewalton That is so cool that you get to spend so much time in Sedona. I live so close, I need to go up more often for the hiking!

No problem. It was fun translating. I also didn't want you to think I spoke Russian when I don't. :)

I really do need to get to Sedona. I am a sucker for red rock, and there are some great spots to photograph.
