Mushrooms are well known to us. We can find mushrooms almost everywhere. In the shady corners of the forest or on wet soil, we suddenly see a small, surprising mushroom. They look small, soft and have an umbrella-like head. The color of the head can be white, brown or reddish, and the underside is often fringed, as if painted with an artist's fine brush. The stem of the mushroom is thin, soft and simply rises from the ground. However, the mushrooms that you can see in the photograph here did not rise from the ground. They rose from the dead root of a coconut tree. Whenever it rains, we notice small parts of this beautiful mushroom coming out of the root of the coconut tree. They look a bit like coconut shells. When the coconut is harvested, the inside of the coconut has a round shape. Its color is exactly like the color of this mushroom. These small mushrooms are a symbol of the silent beauty of nature. They seem to become more lively when it rains. Sometimes they peek through gaps in grass or trees — like small umbrellas, standing silently in their own private world. For children, they are the umbrellas of fairy tales, and for nature lovers, a sign of a wonderful creation. As a child, I had a question in my mind. If the ones that grow on the ground are the umbrellas of frogs, then what kind of umbrellas are these that grow from the roots of trees? In fact, I came to know everything over time, what a joyful moment it was then. How surprised and amazed I was about all these things.
