To the Heartbeat of Puerto Princesa: A City Tour

After an amazing adventure in El Nido, it was time for us to make our way down to Puerto Princesa for a quick city tour before boarding the ferry back to Manila. It was a long but rewarding day, packed with sights, history, and delicious treats. Here’s how it all happened!

We started early, waking up at dawn to leave El Nido. The van picked us up for the long journey to Puerto Princesa, which takes roughly five to six hours. The trip itself was beautiful, a chance to watch the rural sights of Palawan as the sun rose. We stopped for a quick snack along the way, and before we knew it, we were arriving in the city.

Around noon, we arrived in Puerto Princesa and checked into a hotel for a quick refresh. We were hungry after the long drive, so we headed out for lunch.

Our first stop after eating our lunch was the famous Crocodile Farm. Here, we learned about Palawan’s conservation efforts, met crocodiles of all sizes, and spotted other rescued wildlife. It was a fascinating experience and a great way to learn more about Palawan’s rich biodiversity.

Next, we visited Baker’s Hill, a colorful park adorned with beautiful flowers, quirky statues, and a famous bakery. We strolled through the gardens, snapped a few photos, and tried freshly baked treats. It felt like a little piece of wonder in the middle of the city.

A short drive away was Mitra’s Ranch, also called Mitra’s Peak Garden. This place quickly became one of our favorite spots of the day. The ranch offered breathtaking panoramic views of the mountains and sea. We felt like we were on top of the world as we watched the afternoon sun paint the landscape in warm colors.

Then we stopped by the Immaculate Conception Cathedral, one of the oldest and most beautiful churches in the area. Its serene beauty offered a quiet moment to rest and reflect.

As the day waned, we stopped at Plaza Cuartel, a site with a deep and tragic World War II history. Its significance was a reminder of the resilience and strength of the Palawan people. To end the afternoon, we walked along the Baywalk, enjoying the salty breeze and colorful sights of the setting sun.

Before making our way to the port, we stopped at a souvenir shop for handcrafted gifts, pearl jewelry, and other memorable keepsakes. The van then brought us to the 2GO Port, where we boarded our ferry for Manila, carrying memories of Palawan that we’ll treasure forever.

Although it was just one day, this city tour gave us a beautiful glimpse into the heart and heritage of Puerto Princesa. From its rich history and warm hospitality to its delicious cuisine and picturesque sights, it was the perfect way to end our Palawan adventure. 🌅🌊✈️

Thank you and See you in our next adventure!! Can't wait.....
