This bitterness needed some balance and sugar was the only way. Sadly this wouldn’t eliminate the charcoal taste.
Ah I've been there! But somehow even adding sugar doesn't really make it better isn't it? That was my experience anyway. When the brew is that bitter, the only way that works "to some extent" is adding a bit of milk. Sugar alone just didn't work for my palate. But the fact is, these brews are often unsalvageable in my opinion 😅

Sugar did it doable… I don’t think it did it particularly better. The only other option was to throw it into the sink! 😁
It should be illegal to roast coffee that dark in my opinion… 🤷🏻♂️
