Villa Venier Contarini - Venice - Italy
Hello friends!! How are you?
I hope as usual that everything goes well for you, I practically returned home yesterday morning because I had to arrange some things and also the suitcases so in today's post I share an exploration of a place that I did some time ago, you know well that I know some people who have a group of guides and organize these visits to these places full of art, so today I would like you to discover Villa Venier Contarini!
Beginning of telling you that this villa is located in a place that has been very important especially for this region of Italy which is called Veneto, In this Riviera where an important river called Brenta passes during the golden years of the Republic of Venice, many villas were built that belonged to the rich who lived in this republic.
To make you understand better, below I leave you the GPS details to understand where this villa is located.

This villa located in the municipality of Mira in the province of Venice,it was practically built on the left bank of the Brenta in the year 1500 by the homonymous family that gave it its name, which is the Venier family.
Then we will see that after 200 years it will also take the name of the other family which are the Contarini.
The villa as you can see externally is very simple and consists of a square-shaped body and two guest rooms that are detached from the villa, I must say that it is in quite good condition, although two small rooms in height were added to the central body towards the end of the 19th century.
From my point of view, the most beautiful part of the villa is undoubtedly its interior,in fact the halls are completely decorated with beautiful frescoes.
In reality these frescoes date back to 1700, one of the last renovations that have been done in the villa, with a slightly perspective game, they managed to build fake columns and fake loggias, playing with perspectives.
This thing for me is that I am a lover of my art really impressed!
One side where the Barchessa is located was then closed and is used for parties or rented for weddings.
I must say that the location is very suitable for exclusive parties or large events also because there is a lot of space.
Currently the villa is owned by the regional institute of Venetian villas and as you can see it has recently been restored both in the external architectural part and in the part of the internal frescoes.
Many times I am astonished in front of these fresco shows, and I wonder why in the modern age where we live why we have lost this search for beauty that was in these ancient houses.
Unfortunately, this villa, like other private homes in this splendid Riviera del Brenta, they are not always open to the public as in this case which was only opened in a particular event.
So I advise you, especially for those coming from abroad, to inquire first if these places are open on certain days otherwise if you risk coming here for nothing.
I also visited apart from that it was once used, where the kitchens were, which is now used mostly for the catering that have to do the events in this place.
Then I concluded my visit by taking a nice ride in the park adjacent to the villa, A fairly large park, which of course was the garden of the villa, in fact in each villa it was provided with its own well, where the gentlemen came to walk, and to take refuge to escape from the summer heat, because inside the villa you certainly suffered from the heat.
You must think that many of these villas were usually summer residences of these people, or in many cases they were used to escape a bit from Venice when it was hit by diseases such as the plague.
I hope as usual to have made you discover a place you did not know, and I hope you have the opportunity to visit these little known places, because in my opinion if you visit Italy you cannot leave the country without having visited these villas.
See you at my next post and have a great day !!!

I'm glad you left the GPS coordinates for the map, it helped me have a great understanding of the villa with the context of its geographical location! The architecture and wonderful art within are all breathtaking, thanks a lot for sharing!
Oops, I also visited Venice last year and I don't know how I could have missed such an amazing place.
