While moving between Carrara and Colonnata, two places I adore and that are renowned worldwide, I had the opportunity to come across something truly unknown and extraordinary, and I couldn't resist sharing it with you.

The journey along the road connecting Carrara to Colonnata was a surprising experience. I can't recall the exact bend, but suddenly I found myself in front of a magnificent park of sculptures crafted from the prized Carrara marble, famous worldwide. My curiosity prompted me to stop immediately and explore these works of art up close. It's almost unbelievable to find such a treasure along a passing road, and one might say, quite unimaginable.

Specifically, it was a nativity scene sculpted in marble, a masterpiece that can be admired throughout the year. However, my disappointment stemmed from noticing the absence of an informational plaque that could have provided details about the creator of this extraordinary piece and the reason for its placement along that scenic road. It's always nice to know the story behind the artworks encountered during travels; I even did some research, but unfortunately, I found nothing, so for me, this will remain a mystery.

Despite the lack of information about the creator of the nativity scene, the emotion of standing before such a unique artistic expression was indescribable, especially for an art enthusiast like myself. The Carrara marble, cold and majestic, seemed to come to life through the sculptures adorning the landscape, truly a beautiful sight! It's a shame that the location wasn't maintained at its best, but the beauty of the artworks still captured my attention and imagination.

I highly recommend anyone passing through that area to make a brief stop to admire these enchanting sculptures. Encountering small artistic gems along the road made my exploration of Tuscany even more special, but in this region, it's not a surprise! It serves as a reminder that, even in the most unexpected places, the region can offer artistic surprises that enrich the landscape. Tuscany, with its rich artistic history, always manages to surprise and provide something unique, turning every journey into an unforgettable adventure, and I hope to continue sharing more with you.
