Hello friends, it is always a pleasure to return here to write a few posts, and it also gives me great pleasure to read your posts, which are always beautiful, but today in this story of mine, I want to take you to discover a place that you will certainly not find indicated in Italian tourist guides, but which from my point of view is worth seeing, especially if you happen to be around Siena.

A beautiful village located in the Sienese countryside between the Val d'Asso and Val di Chiana, a place that can fascinate for its small artistic jewels that I have tried to share in these photos.
Here in this beautiful village we find a castle, the Rocca di Trequanda, built in the Middle Ages, to the present day came the beautiful keep that you see in the photo, and practically now belongs to a private family so it is used as a private residence.

Just think, this municipality is really small, there are only 1,200 inhabitants, the municipality is part of the Touring Club's orange flag association, because it is a tourist destination recommended by this association, but above all, the municipality has recently joined the association of oil cities, precisely because near this beautiful village there are so many olive groves, which are then used for the production of the delicious Tuscan oil that is marketed all over the world.

The name of this village Trequanda derives from an Etruscan toponym, in fact it means a certain land, a very particular land, most likely referring to the fact that the land is very particular in this area of Siena, let us remember that here we are close to the famous Crete Senesi.

I don't know if you do this when you come to these places, but I really enjoy walking alone along these streets, and observing everything I see along this walk, and maybe even meeting some local people to exchange a few words to better understand how life in this beautiful village unfolds.

In fact, a very kind gentleman pointed out to me that further on I would find a tree that had grown into a wall, I didn't want to believe it at first, but then I really found myself in front of this miracle of nature, in fact, those who like monumental trees like this one, it has become a small monument for this village, in fact, the inhabitants are really proud of this tree, and I must say that it is something incredible.

how is it possible that a tree has grown there?

Finally, in the last photo, I want to show you the beautiful view from the village of the Sienese countryside, which became world-famous for the film The Gladiator, which was shot a few kilometres from here.

my story ends here, I hope you liked it and I hope you also liked the photos, which I shared with you, thank you for reading up to this point, see you in the next post.

Hello everyone and I wish you a beautiful day!!

Italy is a beautiful country! Those structures are very beautiful and ancient, you can tell they have quite a bit of history.
The last picture, the one of the pasiaje, is just majestic, I think it's one of the places I would like to visit someday. 🤩 Beautiful pictures! Many blessings to you! 👊🙏🙌✨😃
