"Casciana Terme: A Hidden Thermal Retreat in the Tuscan Countryside"

Here, with great enthusiasm, I have managed to write today's post about a place I had visited some time ago. To be honest, I had seen it several times on the road leading to the beautiful city of Pisa, but I realized that I had never talked to you about this little thermal locality called Casciana Terme, which is located right next to Pisa. It is famous for its thermal waters that have been used for therapeutic and healing purposes since the 1300s. If you remember, I've also talked about other places in Tuscany in previous posts that are connected to thermal healing. This is because the land in Tuscany has volcanic origins, and in this area, as in other parts of Tuscany, there are natural hot springs with water at a temperature of 35 degrees Celsius, rich in bicarbonates and other sulfates that are used for body treatments.

I'm sharing some photos I took in the town center, and here, you'll find the most important building in the town, which is the thermal center. They offer a wide range of thermal treatments, including thermal baths, mud baths, massages, and face and body treatments. For example, I was here some time ago to treat a skin condition, and I must say this treatment worked, and I was able to heal naturally, which is what I liked the most.

The town isn't very large, and it's situated in the Tuscan countryside, surrounded by hills, vineyards, and even a few olive trees. We know that this region is known for producing excellent olive oil. During my exploration, I also came across a small church that, unfortunately, was in a state of total abandonment.

It's not the first time I've found monuments in this condition. Unfortunately, this region is rich in such points of interest, and in many cases, they are not managed properly. Being a passionate art enthusiast, it always breaks my heart to see such situations.

In conclusion, I have to be quite honest; I didn't like this town very much. I've always found it rather dirty and poorly maintained, as you can see from the photos I've shared with you here.
