Hiking in Cumuruxatiba | Brazil

This second time in Cumuruxatiba I stayed for only 10 days and didn't have time to visit all the beaches as I did when I traveled to this destination in 2021. But I was able to revisit some of the magical places there, such as Japara Grande beach.

This beach is surrounded by colorful cliffs, a very common sight in Cumuru, and has a river that flows into the sea, making it possible to bathe in fresh water right on the beach.

Hiking in Cumuru

One of the things I love doing most in Cumuru is walking aimlessly along the waterfront as far as my legs can take me. And I love recording these paths, the scenes that capture my eyes, the landscapes formed by the low tide, the drawings in the sand, the strange animals I come across...

All this gives me a very raw feeling of being just a supporting player watching nature in its raw state, happening by itself. And I love taking on this role of observer.

The images above were all taken on a Saturday morning, when I went out to explore the area on my own. All this caught my eye and I thought it deserved to be immortalized in my clicks.

Beaches in the center of Cumuru

On another day's walk, I decided to go in the opposite direction from where I had already explored and headed for the beaches located in the center of the village of Cumuru. There you'll find the long, old pier, built for the exploitation of monazite sand, and the Praia dos Barcos.

These are the two busiest beaches in Cumuru, as they are home to guesthouses and most of the bars and restaurants on the seafront.

I confess that for those who like solitary walks on the beach, these stretches are too crowded, but it's still worth the walk. I made some dog friends along the shore and finished my walk at the local church.

I really love exploring places on my own and I hope you enjoyed checking out my photos.
Until the next post with more beauties from Cumuru!
