An abandoned house, an awakened gaze
Well, as I mentioned in a recent post, looking for photos to submit a project to a contest stirred up a lot around here. Not just my archives, but it stirred things up internally as well.
These were some of the first portraits I took when I truly realized that I couldn’t live a life without photography in it.
I was so excited to start exploring new settings and photographing people I didn’t know — people outside my circle of friends, for example. It was both challenging and thrilling, and I look at these photos — taken 12 years ago — with so much affection. I think the gaze was already there, maybe it always had been.
These photos were taken in an abandoned house, and to this day I still like most of them.
Today I’m sharing a few of them here, and I hope you enjoy them too.
