The Museum of ancient art in my city ^_^
Hello hivers, and happy Tuesday to you all! As I promise, today I' here to tell you about the Museum of ancient art in my city (Pistoia, Italy).
Every first Sunday of the month, the most part of museums in my city are free, so me and my hubby @paolobeneforti use to visit every time we can do it. The past Sunday (just a couple of days ago ^_^ ), we went to a beautiful museum called "Museo Civico di arte antica" (in italian means "Museum of ancient art") inside the ancient building that is also the city hall.
The name of the building is Palazzo degli Anziani and it is an around 1300 stone building located in the main square of my city.
This museum is a public museum and it's open since the 1922 and there are about 300 pieces of ancient art (paintings and some sculptures too)from the XII to the XX century, all made by local and florentine artists.
It's a very interesting museum with beautiful ancient artworks and I took some pics to share with you.
I love especialy the gallery of portraits, where there are a lot of portraits full of beautiful details:
The most ancient paintings are religious pieces (it's usual here in Italy) and they were made around the 13°-14° century:
I like to focus myself on the details and maybe you noticed the painter added a couple of flies on the arm:
I hope you appreciated this sort of virtual tour around the ancient art in my city!
See ya soon and stay safe,
Silvia
