The historical parade in my city (Pistoia)!

Hello hivers, an happy July 25th to you all!
Today is a very special day in my city (Pistoia, Italy), because every 25th July we celebrate our patron Saint James (San Jacopo in Italian) and the streets come back to the middle age thanks a beautiful parade full of people dressed up in historical costumes!

I'm really lucky, because a part of the parade walk just in front of my home and so today, when I started to listen the sound of the drummers, I took my camera and I open my door to celebrate that beautiful moment when the history meet the actual era. ^_^

In the following pics you can see what I watched direcly from my front door and, just to know, it was a very very hot day while those poor people was dressing those wonderful (but very very warm) costumes!):

It was really a beautiful moment for every citizen and I felt myself so proud to live in this little but nice town!

This seems to be a popular sort of celebration in Italy. My parents go to Abruzzo a lot and get awoken by the drummers. All fun stuff. We lack such traditions around here.

It's a very popolar sort of celebration here in Italy, there are some special "school" in many cities where children can start to learn to be an historical drummers and also classes for flag-wavers (another beautiful tradition here ^_^ ).
