Happy Liberation Day! ❤️

Hello hivers, happy April 25th to you all! Here in my country (Italy) today we celebrate the Liberation Day to commemorate the liberation of my country from Nazi German occupation and Fascist collaborationism (Italian Social Republic) during the World War II.

This are bloody time of wars in different parts of the worlds and so I think it's very very important to remember what happened in our own coutry even if it was a long time ago. I'm old enough to remember when I was young and people who lived during the war told me about that time. I can remember their words, they eyes and the sadness I could feel listening those stories. Thos old men and women said me that I was lucky because I was leaving in a peaceful time and yes, I know I'm lucky to live my life here and now, but I can't forget there are people now who are living the same horrible bloody nightmare that my grandparents lived many years ago. I want to give my warm warm hugs to the users from Ukraine, hoping in a Liberation Day for them soon. ❤️

I want to commemorate our Liberation Day with you also to give a sign of hope for better time.
The old people who told me about the war time here used to tell me how important was the hope for a better time for them during that hard time and so, please, don't lose hope. ❤️

To celebrate this day there are some events in my city and, this morning, me and my hubby @paolobeneforti went to the main square of my city where there was a concert in front of the ancient building of the Municipality.

The local marching band played music along the alleys and, after, they stopped under the loggia to play old music included an old partisan (italian partisan) song. It was very touching, believe me.

They started playing the famous song "Bella ciao", but that song was not an italian partisan song during the war (it started to represent the partisan just many years after the war! ). At the end they played the song that partisans used to sing at that time, the song called "Fischia il vento" (it means "The Wind Whistles").

I took some pics of the band to share with you:

The war was not such ancient history when we were kids and grandparents had been involved. We need to remember the lessons of history to avoid such mistakes. 'Strong' leaders tend to abuse their power.

I've performed Bella Ciao at some demonstrations. It's a good tune.

Enjoy the celebrations.

I agree with you, we need to remember the lessons of history. Now more than before.
I like so much Bella ciao and when the band wwas playing it along the streets of my city I felt myself so touched. Warm hugs from here, dear Steve. ❤️
