Happy April 25th, the Anniversary of Italy's Liberation. ❤️

Hello hivers, an happy April 25th to you all!
This is a special day here in my country because we celebrate the Anniversary of Italy's Liberation. ❤️

During this day everywhere we commemorate all the people who fought for our freedom during the World War II.
I'm old enough to remember the memories of the old people I met when I was a young girl, people who lived that bloody, horrible time. My dad was just a child, the same for the father of my hubby, but both of them had a clear memories of that time and they used to tell us about the facts they lived. The fear and the hunger.

In the village where I was born, when I was a child and, after, a young girl, there were 2- 3 old people who was young boys during the WW2 and I still remember well their voices and their faces while they told their time as partisans. Their memories, as you can understand, were sad memories, not just for the fear and the hunger, but also because they lost the most part of their families and friends. How many blood on the earth to fight for our freedom. Now those old people I knew in my village there are no more, but every child and young people who listened their memories are still here and we have to tell those stories, those real sad stories, to the new generations.

Just to know, the date of April 25 was chosen by convention to celebrate the Liberation, because the Aprile 25th 1945 the Comitato di liberazione (the National Liberation Committee of Upper Italy), some days before the arrival of the Allied troops, proclaimed a general insurrection in all the areas still occupied by the Nazi-fascists to attack them and to impose the surrender.
Just to know, the war ends in my country just after some days, on 2 May 1945, when there was the complete surrender of German and RSI forces to the Allied forces, but the date of April 25th remember us that we have to thanks all those partisans and not partisans who gave their life to give us freedom. ❤️

Now, in the 2025, during this hard time of blood and wars, I want to give a warm hugs to all the people who are fighting for their freedom, because we can really understand the importance of the freedom just when someone want take it away from us.
