An extra-ordinary day with a "wandering poet" !

Hello hivers, an happy Friday to you all!
This is a soecial Friday here in my city (Pistoia, Italy) because every 25th July we celebrate our patron San Jacopo (Saint James) and the streets come back to the middle age thanks a beautiful parade full of people dressed up in historical costumes! The parade will start later in the afternoon (you can see the pics I took in the 2024 here) and after the parade will be the Giostra dell'Orso that is a tournament that take place in the main square called Piazza del Duomo. I hope to take some pics of the parade later, but in the meantime I'm here to share with you a beautiful experience I lived days ago!
At first you have to know years ago (around 8 years) I wrote a content here about a printed poem attatched to a road sign along an alley of my city. That poem was part of a sort of "wandering poetry" action (I'm not sure this is the correct way to call this kind of action) by a poet who use the nickname "Stendiverso". I was well surprised and touched to find a poem while I was walking in my city and searching information about it I understood the same poet did the same in different cities. Thanks the content I wrote, we found each other on the social media and so we followed each other for so long, but finally, on Sunday, we met in person!
Andrea (this is his real name) is really an awesome person and he uses his poems and words to give a way to think about different themes to people who read (and watch) them in their daily life. I think about this kind of action like a "poems very close to everyone" because you can see them in common places.

Some delicate touches of thoughts in different corners of the city and, sure, I like it!

Just to know, the prints were placed around in a safe way for the surfaces, they are no glued and they can be removed with no damage.

We were a group of people and so we helped Andrea to place the poems. To be honest it was excited for me. I'm a little shy and so I really don't love to make things in front of people, but in this case I had no difficult because I felt this kind of poems could be a nice surprise, a poetic surprise for people as the same way it was for me the first time I watched it.

Just to know, citizen seems to appreciate this kind of action, because we found a poem placed in a corner years ago and it was still in the same place, nobody cut it away feom there:

In the folloowing pics you can see some short poems on a garbage can and some on the poles in the center of the city:

I know there are more of these ones along the alleys and during the next days I'll search them to share with you more.

See ya soon and stay safe,
Silvia
