I found some photos online with people feeding them, they seem pretty friendly. :))

That’s interesting, I’ve never seen people feeding squirrels like that over here….
I don’t really care, but they seem to take all of our walnuts off our trees every year!🙄
I think they are being fed well Lol!😇

Black or red squirrels is good, seeing too many of the grey ones is not a good sign, they're nasty :))

Do you have your own walnut trees? What other productive trees do you have?

We have several walnut trees we have black walnuts trees, and English walnut trees!😀
They are very easy to grow in the north northwest!!

Walnuts are great, as kids we used to pick them even when they were green and eat the core while it was still white. :)

I didn’t know you could even do that when they were green!😮
How did you crack your walnuts, that’s the hard part!🙄

For some we'd have to use a tool like a pocket knife, if no tool was available we'd just use some rocks to crack them open. Of course it was unavoidable to get our hand dyed in a strong yellow color that wouldn't come off for days.

We always did it the hard way smashing it with either a rock or a hammer…..
Not the best way to crack them open Lol!🤣

That knife looks like the best way to open a walnut, as long as you are careful!😬
