“Honest Officer I Wasn’t Speeding!”😇 My Actifit Report Card: January 24 2026
“Honest Officer I Wasn’t Speeding!”😳
Ding…ding…ding……..
“Watch out Silvertop, someone is coming up fast behind you on a bicycle!”😳
While most of the country is preparing for an arctic winter blast, the Pacific Northwest is enjoying cold crisp mornings, and Sunny blue sky days!😎
Today the Ocean was calling!🤗
15 MPH maximum speed on the hiking trails!
Hmmm……………🤔
With the recent popularity of electric bikes, Boulevard Park has posted a speed limit on the trails!🙄
I asked Chat GPT how fast can these electric bikes go………………
“Silvertop, these bikes are awesome! There are three basic classes for electric bicycles.
Class one has a top speed of 20 mph!
Class three has a top speed of 28 mph!
Then we have the off-road high-performance electric bike bikes that can achieve 30 to 35 mph!”💪
“Liz I do believe I was just passed by an electric motocross bicycle Lol!”🤣
These bikes certainly look fun, but have very little exercise benefits!🙄
More and more people are sitting in front of a computer for the better part of each day. The need to “Step away” from the keyboard, and get some exercise is becoming so very important!😇
When Silvertop first started hiking, I was new to Crypto, and new to counting my fitness steps………
I discovered “Sweat Coin” an iPhone app that tracked your daily steps, and rewarded you with SweatCoins that could be exchanged for products listed within the app.
This app has had its up’s and downs, and later in 2018 I discovered @actifit, and together with my Fitbit watch, I started syncing my steps and posting each and every day since!😇
“Guys…… did you know you will get much healthier, if you park that electric bike, and start walking or jogging!”☺️😅
“Silvertop they are already out of sight!”🥰
Hmmm……… I see that honey…….🙄
Remember my friends, it’s not the destination, but the journey!☺️
No need to rush!😇
Till tomorrow Silvertop Mike 😊

I miss my old working days when I bike commuted through rush hour traffic.

Electric bikes, while they can be useful, are not something that I'd ever buy, since I actually like riding regular pedal-powered bikes, and seriously, what's the point of buying a bike that offers little to no exercise? Enjoy the sunshine, my friend! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
I feel the same way people are not getting any exercise at all anymore......
Enjoy the sunshine as well have a great Sunday!!😎
Convenience is great and all, but people seem to think that effort and work are somehow unimportant. Thanks a lot, my friend, we had some nice sun today! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
Very well stated my friend..... sounds like how the majority of the country thinks unfortunately!🙄
Thank you, my friend, and yes, indeed, I've sadly noticed! People have become good at being unable to do anything for themselves, because they utilize that convenience so regularly, thus making them even more dependent on the system! Even just using their bodies! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
I have heard the same thing true at Home Depot...... less and less homeowners are doing improvements, it's becoming contractors mostly!!🙄
That's so sad, but also not surprising! People outsource necessary skills! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
Crazy huh?……..
I am kind of proud of the fact that I can do most repairs by myself! My next-door neighbor always tells me we pay people to do things we have money……
It’s not about the money it’s about being self-sufficient!💪😇😊
It's utterly insane! That's badass, my friend, and you should be proud of that! That's exactly it, it's about being self-sufficient and self-dependent! The more that we know, and know how to do, the freer we are in practical terms! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
That's exactly how I feel my friend!😀
I really can't understand why my neighbor is so proud of the fact that they pay people to do everything.......
Almost as if they think money solves everything!
In fact a lot of people with money are very unhappy🙄
It's almost like they associate doing things for themselves as manual labor of the 'lower class', something from which they seem to want to distance themselves as quickly as they can! They are dependent slaves in their quest to have everything done for them, and they don't even know it! You said it, many with huge fortunes are not happy campers at all! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
That's exactly how I kind of feel, I am always proud that I can accomplish something on my own!😇
Ditto that, my friend, so much! I've learned to do all sorts of things living out here in the jungle! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
Just be careful living close to an active volcano my friend!😇😊
Thank you, my friend, and indeed! Kilauea has been erupting more vigorously, and last week we actually had volcanic ash and Pele's hair (shards of volcanic glass) falling from the sky! I could also see lots of volcanic gases mixed in with the clouds! It made the sun deep orange/red! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
That sounds very intense, my friend!😳
I have never heard of volcanic glass!
Well, it certainly can be! Pele's hair is basically very-thin filaments of volcanic glass, that look like lots of little pieces of fiberglass in the sun. They can definitely get under the skin, which isn't incredibly pleasant, I must say! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
You would think breathing this would be very hazardous my friend.......
Be careful!!
Thankfully Pele's hair is pretty heavy, so it falls quickly, all over the place! The more challenging thing during eruptions is sulfur dioxide, as it binds to water, making acid rain. It also binds to mucus membranes, so it can be extremely irritating to eyes, mouth, and throat! Always, my friend, I promise! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
How does having an active volcano affect drinking water my friend?
You would think having water wells would be very challenging!🙄
When there is a lot of sulfur dioxide in the air, all water turns very acidic, so people out here usually put large amounts of baking soda in their catchment tanks. In this part of Hawai'i there are no wells, since the land is so new, so all water goes straight through into the porous lava below. It's all rain catchment out here! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
That makes sense...... and since you are so close to the ocean you couldn't even put a wall very deep without hitting saltwater🙄
Yep, all our water comes from the rain. Living here, while amazing, definitely has its own host of challenges. 😁🙏💚✨🤙
I guess it's a good thing you get over 100 inches of rainfall given that you depend on that for water containment!😇👍😀
Absolutely, it's super helpful, especially with providing water for a whole community! We've come close to running out before! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
I feel the same way about the electric bike here in NYC. Of course for the delivery people it makes sense because time is of the essence. But the casual bike riders are all but gone, like a memory of the past. Very few people riding are doing it manually anymore... but I am one of the people. My Specialized aluminum kit still gives me the manual biking support I need!
As kids we had fun riding bikes and got good exercise without even trying!😀😇
I could definitely see for delivery drivers they would be good!
I LOVED riding my bike around the neighborhood with my brother, especially over to the local comic shop that hosted Magic the Gathering events!
That sounds awesome, my friend especially with your brother!🤗👍😊
Yeah although it's great for convenience I don't want an E-Bike, people get lazy because of it, the legs make circles without putting in the power to get the heart rate up.
I definitely agree my friend...... I see so many kids with e-bikes, they're not even getting exercising anymore!🙄
