Take a load off your feet!😊
“Silvertop where are we!”😮
It has been a while since I hiked up to this beautiful location!😇
Last Summer I would pack my Mac air laptop in my backpack, and sit on this wooden bench, and type replies to post on our blockchain for hours!☺️
It’s very peaceful up here!
Silvertop worked hard all morning, checking off chores on my “to do” list.😅
So later in the afternoon I treated myself to a hike up to “South Pass Ridge Top”!
I followed Keith and Lynne’s switchback road, and headed straight uphill on the “Spring Trail”!
Lynne will tell you this is one of the most boring trails, because it goes straight up!😲
Ahhh Silvertop you made it to the top!🤗
My backpack felt extra heavy today…………
I discovered I was “packing” Liz’s umbrella!🥰
Strange how you can feel the weight of one umbrella, added to what you are normally carrying in your backpack Lol!🤣
The weather has turned a bit colder, you can see the ice crystals forming on the pond in the third photo.
I dressed in layers to stay warm today.
As I climbed higher, I stopped several times, to take layers off…….😅
Up top, you are looking at Sumas Mountain!
Far down below, the new network of trails called “Soaring Eagle”, and even further below, is the South Pass that cuts through this Mountain!😊
Right behind me is the old wooden trail marker……..
If you look beyond this sign, you will see how Keith and Lynne have pressurized running water for their home far below!
Water gain’s pressure at .5 lbs per foot of vertical drop.
Their home is about 100 feet below, so they have plenty of water pressure from these water tanks!😇
Water is mechanically pumped uphill, with a “water ram”.
It’s amazing technology behind this pump!
It uses water flowing downhill to pump water uphill, without electricity!😊
Time to head back down, sunlight is fading………….
I’m sure I will return soon!😊
