Good evening Hive family and all the photographers lovers around the world, what I got here for you all tonight is some of these shot's I took at my local lake of the Double-Crested Cormorant catching a small fish. This is one of the hardest things to capture, when the fish are small these birds waste not time in getting them down, so you have to be ready. Also when they dive down, your focus has to be ready to close where they are going to pop up out of the water, pray that they come out somewhat focused shot's or focused to perfection. They also move fast underwater, they just might not pop up where you think that they are. Now if they catch a big fish you will have time most likely, it takes them a minute to secure them and depending on the weight of the fish, you might get two or three toss ups before they even get it in there beak. I have been focusing on them a lot lately, I have to get that pure quality one to post, I might have it but I have so many files to go thru. These right here are not so bad though, already a hard bird to get good detail on them due to the color and water of on them.
When you get into birding, it comes to a point where you really want the action shot, perched is till cool, don't get me wrong but action is where it is at and way harder to get. That's why you will see many posts on the Osprey from me, not only one of my favorite birds but still trying to get that dive shot with the talons out. As for these Cormorants I will keep trying as well, like I said it is pretty fun to watch and study what each species do in nature. That is very appealing to me if I'm being honest, I do believe it will make you a better photographer as well. I'll keeping doing what I do, hope that you all are enjoying my work. I do put a lot into all this, from out in the field, to going through thousands of shot's, to editing them and then the post. I really do enjoy doing all of it though, it feels good when people appreciate your work and to think I still don't even have a year of birding photography under my belt. So excited to see what the future hold in this photography world for me. I like it a lot and I am enjoying the process, well maybe not the edited and going through thousands of pictures, blurry, blurry, blurry, decent to decent to hopefully bang bang epic and quality. Anyways, appreciate you all, keep them coming to all that love doing this too, no matter what kind of photography. Let's keep ti going and shooting, have a blessed one to all.
Anyways appreciate everyone feedback hope you have enjoyed my shots and post today' thanks for stopping by, Have a blessed one and thank you for coming in and checking out my shot's of the day. Stay tuned and enjoy my future shots in the world of photography, thru my lens.
