Good morning Hive family and all the photographers lovers around the world, what I got here for you all today are some new shots that I had taken at a local lake and on this day, after two years of shooting birds I finally got a Hawk but its not just a Hawk, its a Red Tailed Hawk picking up its dinner and getting and American Coot. It is sad in one sense but you have to realize it is wildlife, this Hawk is a bird of prey and as photographers, we always want to capture the action. This is action, some may not be a fan of it but I am and like I said, its sad too. I am going to unload seven shots today, I have many more, so more posts coming with many more shots on these posts on the Hawk. These are edited all a little bit different too, trying to figure out what I like best, they all look really good on my tablet when I edit but then when it comes to me making a post on my PC, not sure about them after that. They all could be more sharp, this shooting was a few days before my camera breaking, light wasn't that good, so I struggle with the old Canon 60D. Still learning and having fun with it all though, I do a lot so I post from really good for me to just being okay, these I wish were so much better but I will take them and be glad I got to witness this in the field. I don't see much red on tail nor on the shoulder but I think this is a younger Red Tailed Hawk, subject to change but one of my photography buddies got it too, thinks it is, so we shall roll with it. Now lets get into the shots, the cover shot by far is my favorite one. I kept it more of the actual color of the original shot, wished I didn't gut off the wing but you get what you get while action happens. Not to mention, his feather on his wing is broke I assume, that looks terrible but the shot is still coo. Rather get it then not get it, is the motto. Now in the next shot below, I tried to make the colors pop more, not sure if I like or not but I did all this work to show them on a post anyways. For me, when I don;t get sharp images, I think the black and white versions are better, easier to hid the flaws.
Another shot here, why I think it is a younger Hawk, is that it gave us about ten to fifteen minutes of shooting, couldn't fly up with its catch right away but tried so many times.
Another shot of the Hawk trying to take off with its meal.
After struggling with trying to fly, I got so many shots of it just posted on the ground for me to get many clicks in. This one looks cool, wish it was more sharp but its all good.
Another cool shot, sharp not so much but maybe one day I get the chance again, with new equipment, now that my camera is done, I wished to spend the money to get the new new stuff but not anytime soon.
Last shot here, again trying to fly but the weight of the American Coot is to much for him. It did eventually get it up though, so the food was not wasted. Anyways hope you enjoyed them, thanks for stopping by, have a blessed one.
