Epic Acorn Woodpecker Bird shot #14 Part 2

Good Evening photography world and Hive Family, today's post are of these epic shot's of this Acorn Woodpecker, now I know what your thinking, why two posts. Well for me I just cant give all the goodies in one post, for they are worthy of two posts, not to mention they are of two different woodpeckers as well. Now for the story on how this started, I was at my local lake and in the middle of the lake their is an island you can get to from a bridge. As I got there I noticed a bird on the tree right as I road my electric bike off the bridge. I stooped as quick as I can and started shooting, getting closer and closer to this other bird and then boom it flew off. As I was like standing there saying dang, I didn't get enough shots off I heard a bunch of commotions behind me, as I turned around the big tree that has a big low tree branch, this guy was right there, never captured one before and there he was staring at me yelling, as I turned and starter shooting he continued to stay there, literally like five feet away. So there I was snapping and getting off about thirty shot's before he even moved. It was so epic and something that rarely happens out there. I guess you can say it was my lucky day. As he moved around I got so many more off too, in different locations but for now these were the best ones of them that I wanted to show off. I hope you enjoyed them as well as my story, thanks for stopping by my blog and post today. Have a Blessed one.

What can I say about these Acorn Woodpeckers other than that I really like this bird, such an awesome looking bird in my opinion. Also known as the Melanerpes formicivorus in which is a medium sized woodpecker, the length are around eight inches long and their average weight is about three ounces. As for the endangered list these woodpeckers are of least concern, they are of abundance but for me I don't really see them that often. Like I said this was the first time, so I suppose it was beginners luck to get these so closely. I love their red heads too, such a cool looking bird and I believe these came from Mexico and migrated here, not sure if on purpose or they did. They also breed in big groups too, which is pretty cool. Anyways, enjoy the shots.
