A Collection Of My Bird Photography #13

Good Morning photography world and Hive Family, today's bird feature is the Black-crowned Night-Heron (Nycticorax nycticorax) but for me I'm going to change the name to Blue-crowned Night Heron because these are blue not black and a later post I will post the other version of this bird, which is Grey-crowned Night-Heron. For me it doesn't make sense on the name, because we have the Great Blue Heron, but its a larger bird, also another post for another day. I'm going to go against the name callers because I can, I make more sense too. haha. Nonetheless this has to be one of my favorite bird so far, such an awesome looking bird and most have the two tail whips but I have seen some without them too. This is a collection of shot's over probably three different trips to my local lake, where these birds tend to hang out, a lot of them are there compared to places I have been as well. Some are friendly because humans feed them but some still get sketched out a bit and will fly off, it just depends on the bird. The real close up ones was a bird that just loved being shot with my camera and didn't mind me at all, he was just a bird model for the day. I actually got about a foot away without him flying off, so yeah this one must be an elder.

A little info on the Black-crowned Night-Heron aka Blue-crowned Night-Heron in my world. They are a stocky bird that is pretty much always got its neck tucked in and the Red eyes are just amazing but when they are younger, they have yellow eyes for a time. They feed nocturnally on fish, frogs and other prey that can be out there in the lakes. Now they do have a Yellow-crowned Night-Heron, which is still blue, SMH but they are white-ish on the top of their crown then blue around. Also have a white strip thru the side of their face but I have yet to see one of those versions of this bird. I sure will be on the look out for those birds though, because I need to capture one to put in the photography collection of birds. The cool thing about these birds are they are seen all over the world, including parts of Europe, Asia, and North and South America, also in some places in the Australia's. They are the least concerned species of birds on the endangered list because I assume their is an abundance of them. Considering on how many I've already seen, I can believe it. So I'd like to call this one part one of a two part post of these birds, so that way I can show you all them shot's of the grey one with stripes throughout the feathers. That post too will be at a later time, just like my post on the Red-Crowned Parrot I posted yesterday. Anyways sit back and enjoy my shot's of these beautiful birds, hope you all like them, have a blessed one.
