One Tree at a Time, We Can Build a Greener, More Hopeful Pakistan 🌲

Trees are a symbol of the earth. They are not only beautiful but also of immense importance to our environment and economy. They provide oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide. They are such a gift of nature to humans that they are always alive. They also play an important role in reducing heat. In cities where concrete, roads, and buildings increase heat, if trees are present, they naturally cool the surrounding environment through their shade and leaves. This is why those areas feel more comfortable in summer.

<Trees are part of the Earth's natural system. When trees grow on the ground, they hold the soil firmly in place with their roots, which reduces soil erosion and keeps the land fertile. PRainwater is better absorbed into the ground, replenishing groundwater reserves. There are various types of trees found in Pakistan such as Sheesham, Kekar, Peepal, Deodar, Mango, Jamun, and many other indigenous trees. Each tree has its own ecological benefit.Pakistan needs trees more than ever today, as the country faces issues like climate change, climate extremes, and deforestation.Rather, it is the responsibility of every citizen. If we pledge to plant just one tree every year, we can lay the foundation for a better Pakistan. Children in schools and colleges should be taught the importance of tree planting, awareness campaigns should be conducted in public places, and strict legal action should be taken against the felling of trees.Birds build nests in trees, animals seek shade, and insects make their home on them. They provide us with oxygen, but they also make the entire environment clean and beautiful, allowing us to escape the harsh rays of the sun due to their shade. The shade of a tree is not only important for humans but also for animals and birds. For wildlife, this shade is a natural shelter, where they can escape the sun and heat. The shade of a tree reminds us that nature is our protector — if we plant trees, nature will provide us with its cool shade even in the sun. Let's plant trees together so that future generations can enjoy the same soothing shade.
