Shoreditch Grind a popular stop for coffee
Very popular stop
It was finally time to stop by Shoreditch Grind and try it's coffee.
Is this popular place worth visiting or it is too hyped?
I have walked by this place so many times I can't even count them. There was not one time that the place was quiet.
Well, at least until this day. I was once again in the area and I was about to leave and enter the Old Street Underground station, that is just by the Shoreditch Grind, when I looked inside and saw that it was almost empty, just a couple of people.
It seemed quiet and ideal for a first visit, since it is always so busy.
The ideal location and iconic building where this coffee shop is, make it an easy choice, to stop to grab your coffee.
Don't get me wrong, I don't mind busy places, but since Shoreditch Grind it is in an area where people are always coming and going, I personally, like to avoid that energy, of people coming in and out nonstop.
Specially, when I am looking for a place to enjoy my coffee breaks.
The atmosphere was really nice, I liked the decoration. The staff seemed really chilled, although they were not the most friendly, but that is fine. It is not something that bother me much.
Time to taste the coffee and know that if it was worth the stop, or if all that we have experience so far, will be ruined by an awful coffee blend.
In my opinion, and for my taste: It was okay.
Once again another blend of coffee very bland and not very strong, with some sweetness that makes the coffee feel like it has a weak flavour to coffee.
If I was local, or passed by everyday, this would not be the place I would choose to get my coffee, but also, I know for sure I would visit to just chill, even though the coffee is not to my personal taste.

The place looks great, I like the ambiance and how chill and peaceful it looks with less people. I also prefer coffee shops that are not too crowded.
This one is always super busy, that's why I have never visited before :D
In truth, there are places where one gets stressed instead of calming down, the bustle of people causes more stress, in that sense I am also one of the people who look for calmer and more relaxing places.

That is so true. It happens to me sometimes, I pick a place to go and chill and I end up leaving even more stressed than when I came in LOL
Bummer to hear it's another meh coffee. The shop looks pretty fantastic and that just makes the bland coffee that much worse. When you're trying a new coffee, do you tend to try it black, or do you use milk/cream and sugar? I tend to try out a place's coffee black or as a latte. I like getting the taste of the coffee as plainly as possible, but it's neat to hear how others test a roast.
In all honesty, I am portuguese and moved here when I was 24 already. So for me a good coffee is a single expresso. Something I gave up already 12 years ago, I am so used to the roasts they use in Portugal and they are so different, that I gave up trying to find it here in the UK long time ago. So now I usually get my coffee fiz with a white americano. I find that the spalsh of milk it helps me enjoy and better the taste of the coffee!
