Mid afternoon Hike

We went out for one more hike before the snow storm. While it was a little brisk at 11° Fahrenheit wasn't too bad honestly. It always feels cold and windy when you first start to hike but as soon as you get in the hills and the trees you're well protected from most of the wind and you don't feel it plus as you move around you generate quite a bit of heat.

I was only wearing a pair of winter boots, jeans, and a light fleece sweatshirt with a hat and gloves. Wall for a lot of people at 11 degrees I would think that would be nowhere near enough to stay warm the fact that you are moving and hiking in snow which is tougher to walk means that you are getting decent little workout. That helps to keep you warm as you move through the hills. The worst thing that could happen would be to overheat and to get sweaty because then when you do that you would likely get very chill.

This was in the early afternoon around 2:00 was at the beautiful outside. You can tell from the eagles son that there was only a few hours of daylight left a day already made her beautiful but our path was good the city is going to have a tremendous amount of work to do to clear the limbs. While you would think that any good drill hiker could help clear the tracks there was multiple signs posted saying do not attempt to clear or alternate path if there's anything blocking the past just call the city and we'll take care of it. Now I'm sure they won't take care of it for 3 months but they said they take care of it

Tree Are Still Covered

The trees are still covered with snow a few days ago plus a little bit of fresh snow. The fact that it started with rain and transition to snow probably helped stick more than it normally would have but it was still very pretty. New overall weight will still probably hurting the trees but there's nothing you can do until it warms up and get sunny.

Red Was really showing off against the snow!

There were several places along the hike that we had noticed that there were bred berries of flowers that have been left in the fall that we had height passed before without noticing. The fact that they were such a bright red in contrast to everything else being white made them look really pretty and really pop off the branch. Sometimes it's those little details when things change that make you appreciate the heck more.

All ready for Christmas and more snow on the way

untitled.gif

I hope you're all ready for Christmas I hope you have everything you need and you can relax for a few days and shut down between now and here. I know I'll be trying to relax as much as possible but it is likely that I will be at least plugging on for work checking email or doing things that I think make my life easier when I come back full time. Hope everyone has safe travels and it's winter storm is all finished. I'm not sure I like 50 mph winds and 20 below but I guess it's here so we'll deal with it.

Happy holidays everyone
