Golden Palace - Sunset Cloud Portrait

Golden Palace copia.jpg

The traditional thing when capturing a sunset is to point the lens towards the west and portray the composition of the sun and the clouds; that's what I usually do, just like everyone else, but in this case I decided to point my camera at a northwesterly tilt to capture this isolated cloud getting a flash of sunlight during the sun's last yawn that day.

And here is the famous Golden Palace built in the heavens where it cannot be reached, of matchless beauty and resplendent like pure gold. A place that I would not know whether to classify as magical, mythical or sacred; but the point is that I saw it and was able to portray it.

I retouched the photo in Photoshop to accentuate the colors and make the yellow and orange shine for that golden glow in the cloud. I kept the filters to a minimum and just added a little touch to the watercolor style to give my photo that painterly touch that I love so much.

I would say that Golden Palace is a magical photograph of a magical moment; one of those that only happen once in a lifetime, once in heaven, once in nature. One of those moments where you thank God for having your camera or your phone at hand.

The sunset that day was also very impressive, just before the sun went down and while the light was fading; the sky took on a very intense reddish color, so much so that it seemed that it had caught fire.

Sunset of Flames and Silhouettes.jpg

Certainly, I did not miss the opportunity to capture this precious moment in the history of the sky, but I did not just limit myself to photographing the sky and that's it; but I wanted to give it a strong point of contrast and therefore I took the photograph at street level so that the palm trees and plants that are seen against the light could be visualized.

I titled this photo Flames and Silhouettes and applied no filters here; I just exaggerated the contrast so that the backlit elements will be totally black. I feel very happy with the result of both photographs and I feel that I achieved two unrepeatable images, I would say that I paid attention and I was able to hear the sky sing.

I took these photographs in the Urbanization Las Mercedes de paparo, a vacation location located in the Barlovento region, Miranda State, Venezuela. And so I say goodbye to you, grateful that you have accompanied me in another entry of my blog, I love you with all my heart and again I thank you for your visit my dear friends.

Oh my God. As soon as I saw the sunset picture I had to open this post. I wish I could have time for the sunset everyday. Sometimes by the time I remember it’s already past time. I think anyone who is able to get the sunset is quite fortunate.

I don't always have time, but at certain times I disconnect from everything and enjoy these moments. I have a house in that place and there I am away from the city, without internet or work; so for me it is a way to enjoy the countryside, the sky, the song of the birds and to take good photos.
