Seems you are quite focused on aestetics these days, its good!

I think what a lot of those places don’t get is that an aestetic or genre only catches people, it doesn’t keep them. That depends on the wuality but I think more than that is the shops ability to curate a mood, not onlynaeatetically but through conversation and community and music and behavior.

I always like the places where there are always surprises and new possibilities becuase the boss and staff attract open minded people with curiosity and interests. I like cheap for the simple reason that it doesn’t gatekeep, but gatekeeping just enough to keep out parasites is good.

As for aestetic, i think i like it as long as it reflects real interest or passion. My favorite is minimalist but comfy (minimaist is often too sharp and hard chairs), tribal, antique or chaotic…but it has to be real. I cannot stand corporate looking or “family friendly” or clean-hipster aestetics or a place thats trying to be something its not 🤣. I dont think those styles really represent anyone. They all remind me of Hillary Clinton’s face.

"Curating mood" is the word I was looking for and lately, these spaces do that and I love it. Somehow, I find myself learning more about visual design because now I am responsible for designing many posters and social media appearance of my mom's company. Even I design document cover these days so, I have to re-learn aesthetics and stuff like that.

While I vibe with minimalist look, I find them a bit too rigid. This year is the year I am exploring monochrome colors and trying to mix and match those aesthetics. I find that chaotic colors, places and all things chaotic is draining me faster than simpler things 😄
